Please, May I Have Your Chow?

March 19, 2023 by Diana

There are so many sharable moments that happen in a day, but sometimes I’m not sure if a video is worthy of the blog. So, I thought if I added some cinematic flair to this story that I caught through the window while I was cleaning the Mezzanine, it would make it seem that much more blog-worthy.

If you didn’t know before, now you know what those white bags are for on our Amazon Wish List!

10/10 for trying Dora, and a gold star for being so polite!

I’d share my chow with you, Dora?

I would too, but then, when I get hungry later, I can just get up to the kitchen and get myself some more. Raynie can’t

I love this type of clip, the ones that show the intellengence of the chimps through everyday interaction. Good try Dora!
One of my favourite clips I always remember, maybe 2 years ago, it was one of the girls in the 7’s birthday, Foxie got a coconut, and Jody (from memory) took it from her. The attempts by Foxie to get it back, the sad faces she was pulling to gain sympathy and the editing, putting in a big pause on her sad face was just great. I still have a smile to myself when I think of that clip

Alad, poor Dora. Today’s video calls to mind the blogpost from 7.19.2019 (“Whatchu Lookin’ At?”), in which Jody displayed her best food-peering skills…at Neggie and her quartet of bananas grasped in each hand and foot. Alas, the Queen was not persuaded, but proceeded to eat all of the delicious bananas all by herself. As the blog concluded, the script read, “Well, you know what they say:. ‘You miss one hundred percent of the shots that you don’t take’.”

Correction:. The afore-mentioned blog post is from 7.17.2019. I regret the error.

Sweet persistent Dora. Very diplomatic of Rayne to give Dora the empty bag with a few crumbs. I see leadership skills at work! And all the while Rayne keeps looking up towards you, or maybe she’s looking at her reflection, but I prefer to think she’s sharing a little secret with you through the glass.

It’s nice that Dora backed off without a scuffle or big display. I wonder if it had been Willie B and Cy or Terry if it would have ended as gracefully. At least Dora didn’t try to get the piece of chow that was already in Rayne’s mouth when it was wholly visible at one point in the clip!!

Oh, my heart strings! Poor, sweet Dora looked, so, expectantly, at the chow bag and it was sad to see her searching the, empty white paper. Almost makes me think that she did not recieve one of her own!

I remember when they did a forage shortly after getting access to the greenhouses. Li’l Dora has a big appetite for the high protein chow! She was hoarding them!
I’ll see if I can locate the pic

Dora most definitely got her own chow. Rayne was savoring hers, while Dora chose to consume hers quickly.
