A Valentine for Burrito (and friends)!

February 14, 2023 by Katelyn

Happy Valentine’s Day! Wonderful friend of the sanctuary, Paulette Wrisley, sponsored this special day of sanctuary in honor of all the chimpanzees and bovines she loves so much, and most especially for someone who makes a lot of hearts swoon and swell, her Pal:

“My one true love Valentine, Burrito!”

Paulette, heartfelt gratitude for all you do to celebrate Burrito, and all the amazing individuals who call the sanctuary home, and for helping to ensure they are forever surrounded by joy, love and possibility, honored every day for exactly who they are.

Your Valentine 🙂 :

Yes! And Friends of Bonobos just came out with a new ladies tank top. Or maybe it was PASA. Anyway, a bonobo on the front and PASA on the back?

What is it about Burrito? Is it the chrisma that the class clwn would entertain us with? All of the chimps have their cute ways and idiosyncrasie, but he is the one we look forward to. Thank You!:hugging:

Oh, Paulette, there absolutely can be doubt: No less than Abelard et Heloise, Blanzifor et Helena, Pyramus and Thisby, Bubble and Squeak (well, the latter is actually an extensively deep-fried potato delicacy for which the English are universally-renowned), your romance with the irresistably charming Burrito compares favorably with those great romances of legend. Yours is truly redolent of a fairy tale come true. I assume that your dashing Bubba sent you a bouquet of roses…or, at least the stems, since (see video from 2.14.2018) he and his pals are known to not merely appreciate the roseate aroma but to eat them as well. Quel tres romantique, non?

I have recurrently remarked on the curious resemblance between your beloved and my grandfather. I suppose that my impression is completely subjective. Even so, it is possible that you may hold the same sentiment towards your one true Valentine that my grandmother held towards her husband; six decades after their first date, she remarked thus: “He was quite the catch!”

…….and just think Paulette…… I’m sure they weren’t just any stems….. they were probably some stems from an exotic hybrid Rose:hugging:…… just because your little Bubba cares!-
