Winter is Here to Stay

November 30, 2022 by Kelsi

Today was a quiet snowy day at the chimp house. The humans were busy shoveling snow and cleaning, while the chimps ate snow and napped in their cozy nest! Everyone was so content grooming or napping that it was hard to capture photos of them. So please enjoy these photos of some cozy chimps I was able to capture. Speaking of cozy, today is the last day of our Comfort & Joy auction! The auction will be wrapping up at 6 pm PT so make sure to check on your bids or bid one last person out! We will be starting to slowly add Christmas gifts for the chimps on our wish-list soon, so be on the look out!

We got a little bit of snow last night and this morning…

Burrito sat still long enough to snap these photos:

I see the knitted blankets work okay! I’ll have to finish the ones I got a long time ago!
    Thanks, Kelsi!

They all look so cozy & warm. They are truly an inspiration to me in so many ways, and one of those is in nesting. I used to sleep w/ a blanket over my head when I was a child and I’ve decided it’s time to return to that since the chimps always look so contented in those pics — esp w/ winter among us now. Jamie’s profile with the blanket on her head is especially endearing. Thanks, Kelsi!

Knowing Cle ELum is snowy and you have all the chimps inside, cozy and warm, fills me with such joy. Like Negra, I am looking forward to seeing the chimps sleeping with and playing with their new items from the auction!

Thank you, Kelsi, for these photos of my dear cozy friends.

Thank you to everyone who gave so generously to make this auction so much fun. Wow, the booty the chimps will receive this holiday season — they are going to be rolling in Comfort and Joy!!

Everyone looks very contented. I’m anxious to hear how Mave likes her Dora blanket and perhaps see a picture of her with it. It appears that the auction was quite a success, I’m looking forward to receiving my Bovine throw. I got outbid on a few items but it’s all good. It warms my heart to know that the sanctuary has such generous supporters.
