It’s almost always a guarantee that when you are the first person into the chimp house in the morning and you look through the kitchen doors to Front Room 4, you will see Burrito sitting there. He usually has a block in his mouth or a blanket in his hands. A few head nods and breathy pants later, you’re off on a morning game of chase.
There are many reasons I drink one too many cups of coffee in the morning and this is one of them. Once you initiate a game of play with Burrito, there is no time to stop for fuel. There is no time to stop to chat. There is no morning to-do list. There is only play.
This morning was one of these mornings- I got into the chimp house and as soon as I opened the kitchen door, Burrito was ready. He took off to the greenhouse and it was on! He was also throwing out his Burrito-Spin-Move-Classic, which always brings a smile to your face- no matter how early it is.
Check out the video to come along on a morning play session with Bubba!

Thank you, Grace, for the lovely pics as well as the vídeo! I can’t imagine that being the very first thing on your morning list. Still, you must feel honoured to rate as highly as Chad on Bubba’s list! I’ll bet it’s hard to have bad day when he’s like that!

Oh, and which behbeh is it that Tiny has there? It looks larger than a Strawberry Shortcake doll.

After a hard day matching wits with the witless, this video and these photographs put a smile on my face. I conclude, Grace, that Bubba enjoys your presence and company, and that he would like you play with him at every opportunity (free advice: fuel up with some java in advance).

I can’t get beyond the thought of Burrito being the first thing you see looking at you through the kitchen doors. What a way to start your workday!
I now have this vision of Bubba sitting and waiting, and rocking and pacing while he anticipates the staffs arrival. Looking at the door wishing it to open, open, open! And I bet he has your arrival time down to within a few seconds. If only Burrito could have an espresso brewing for you upon your arrival.
Love his somersaults and the way he is always three steps ahead of you. Pethaps you need to add an espresso machine to the Amazon wish list.

what stands out to me is not the fact Burrito is waiting, its the sheer fact of the love you “see” for our wonderful cousins, by the way, it doesnt matter how much work is to be done, if any chimp wants anything, even a play, it happens. There is no, i cant just now, its yes okay lets go, and this speaks more than words, even though they help, its always what they want or need and tge fact its given without limits is such a wonderful gift you give them. Thank you for ALL you do, including the things we dont usually see, like the cleaning. Thank you to our wonderful cousins who give us joy even though they dont know how much they do give us.
