Many people have asked how the chimps cope with all of the construction going on around their home. Let’s take a look!

I wish that my schedule would’ve permitted me to help put up the new structures this summer. Please don’t forget to install the rattlesnake fencing.

I think the chimps are already getting a lot out of the new space !
Hopefully all the hard workers get to look up, and crack up, at their fan-club.
    Great video.:revolving_hearts:

Jamie and Annie, the two sentinels of Young’s Hill.

Talk about enrichment! I too was fasinated by all the construction. And Jamie, perched in the her little fence pocket, observing it all. That was wonderful. Thanks for letting us see what patrols look like these days. I got the feeling as Jamie was gesturing to you that she was actually saying she’s on the wrong side of fencing. She wanted to join the Boys in Boots and help with the construction.

Best of luck with the project. I am amazed at your progress.

That’s too funny, Kathleen, I was thinking the same thing about Jamie wanting to help with the construction. She’s so good with tools and of course, boots!

Thanks so much for the video, JB! It’s wonderful to be able to be a part of the new outdoor space creation even from afar. So many people’s energies are going into this (not to mention the funding!) that I’m certain the chimps will be in heaven when they’re able to explore and feel grass under their feet. A whole new world for them will open up. Maybe Willy B will take another nap on an outdoor structure. It’s lovely to be a part of the expansion and their lives.

I would love to know what the guys on the construction crew think about the chimps and about the sanctuary in general. I’ll bet it’s opened their eyes to some things and that it’s been fun to be involved in this unusual project!
