I could listen to the crunching sounds of lunch all day!

what a great video. The sound was delightful and showed how happy and pampered they are!
That was fantastic. I swear, I could actually smell the leeks! Oh the joy of it all. Willy B eats with such gusto! Thanks Diana, that was just awesome.
Kathleen, “gusto” — that’s the word I was looking for! Totally agree! Thanks.
So here I am working away on a Saturday and this blog post pops up, a perfect excuse for giving myself a break from the vortex. Ooooohhh! Munching, schlurping, deliciousness. I wish I could get away with making those noises in public sometimes when something is especially yummy. My father used to make those noises sometimes & it drove me nuts in a not-good way, so I’m very happy my reaction to the chimps’ enjoyment is pure glee. I think Barbara Streisand once said that making schlurping noises while drinking her hot tea makes it taste better! Whatever the reason, it’s delightful to see & hear the chimps having such a good time with their food. Thanks for this wonderful post, Diana! You (and the 3) have made my day.
c’mon Maraya, be brave and just go for it….it will be liberating I prommise….
Once again I’m full of love and laughter watching this video! Thank You so much for all posts and videos!
Mave sounds just like my brother Eddie:speak_no_evil:
:joy::joy::joy:
Ha! Too funny! I was gonna say they sound like me because I eat a lot of salad. We’re all part of the tribe of Eddie.
The sound and close ups added so much!!!! Thanks to all and Merry Christmas
Best.Video.Ever.:revolving_hearts:
The whole crew is amazing! however, watching them eat and munch away on food that they love just makes my day. i could watch it all day long.
to all of the commenters:
I love how you love them?
? = heart.
Did I just hear, vis-a-vis Mr. Willoughby, the sound of a decidedly content dinosaur? Simply sublime…
Seeing Mave munching on her sweet potatoes = pure joy! Doesn’t get much better than food grunts, munchin’ and crunchin’, and Honey B’s beautiful eyes!
lol, we do too, Diana, and you know it!
The ladies are so delicate and deliberate compared to Willy B. And Honey Bs eyes, as she eats sweet potatoes, with a side of our souls…
it seems as though you’re able to get closer to the 3 than you would with the 6, although you backed off Willy B a bit…do they tend to poke you/spit at you less than Bubba and the cougars?
Linda – there are so many variables. Almost all chimps in captivity I’ve known will poke once in a while (with some notable exceptions – Annie comes to mind). Honey B spits and can give some people a pretty hard time and Mave is known to jab when she has a chance. Willy B’s pokes are often half-hearted. So, I guess I wouldn’t say they are less likely poke or spit than Burrito and friends, but perhaps there are some in Burrito’s group that are a little more quick on the draw. Of course when filming this I was still plenty far away that my fingers were safe and was ready to abandon the filming if they chimps told me to knock it off.
Thanks, Diana.
I’m surprised you said Annie doesn’t–I was pretty sure I remembered her rocking and spitting in a video! Maybe spending 5 years in cages didn’t leave them feeling the same way 25-35 would, I suppose! Sun is out here today, hope it is for you, too!
I love this video Diana, just pure joy.
They all three have their own way of eating: Willy B. quickly chewing and chomping ( like in that first video, a while ago, eating his coal ),
Honey B. more cautious, and with her adorable juicy lips, and then there is Mave; eating and enjoying just as it comes….down to earth Mavis.
Well, there is an excample of “english is not my first language”…..COAL should be CABBAGE.
In my language coal and cabbage are the same word…
we borrowed COLE slaw from you
Its the sweetest sound in the world:sparkling_heart::sparkling_heart:
Great idea for a video! I loved the, crunching, sounds plus the closeups!
Delightful!
