Fri-yay

June 25, 2021 by Sofia Castro-Loza

At this point of the week everybody is taking it easy and getting ready for the next set of even warmer days. With a high of 91°F, the chimps have been mostly relaxing and the humans have been hydrating and trying to keep cool. Caregivers Kelsi, Sam and I even ran across the sprinklers to refresh ourselves for a little bit. But, let me show you what some of the chimps were up to today.

Jamie relaxing in one of the Front Rooms this morning before temps started going up.

Only one more photo and then some shoe grooming in the Green House. OK? OK. I think she approves of my after cleaning shoes.

I got spotted by Burrito while taking photos in the Green House. This can only mean: IT IS CHASE TIME.

Jody in the Play Room.

Honey B’s gaze reaches ones soul.

Willy B is all about that screen time.

I’ve written this before; I’ll write it again: Jamie has the most entrancing eyes. I so hope that she and her neighbors (simian, bovine, human) can exert but a minimum amount of energy during this heatwave. My best wishes, always, to those who live and work at the Sanctuary.

Thanks for sharing these great pictures today,
I could look in Jamie’s eyes all day 🙂

I am trying to imagine what it must feel like to go to work and look into the beautiful faces of Jamie, Burrito, Jody, Honey B (Her looks kill me!), and Willy B…. and all the rest of the gang. Best. Job. Ever. Even with the wicked heat. I hope you keep one of the fan-misters ever ready for yourself.

Sofia, I love that first photo of Burrito in a VERY rare moment of sitting still. Didn’t last for long though! They all have such captivating faces and the most wonderful expressive eyes.
