What a day! Yesterday, Honey B, Willy B, and Mave received access to one of their new playrooms, Playroom 3, and today they received access to Playroom 2! They have been waiting so patiently for these spaces and the day has finally come. It is a true joy to watch these three chimps explore all the room surrounding them. I really thought Honey B would be the crazy adventurous one, but yesterday Mave surprised all of us by climbing and testing everything out. However, once Honey B got comfortable and more confident she was investigating everything. True comfort for Honey B is making a paper nest.
The Seven always know everything, even if they can’t get a clear visual on what is happening. Yesterday the Seven ran out onto Young’s Hill to try and spy on Honey B, Willy B, and Mave getting access to their new playroom. Even at the furthest point of the building the seven can see everything. And today was no different. Playroom 2 is closer to the Hill and you can bet the Seven or at least Jamie was out there watching! We also had construction for the two new green houses going on too. So Jamie was pretty busy managing people and chimps ;).
This is the view from Playroom 2. Pretty amazing, right?
This photo isn’t the best. However, this photo shows you the pure joy on Mave’s face. She looks so happy and content in her new playrooms. This is what sanctuary is all about :).

Willy B and Mave have really been loving the leaves on the new tree structure!

when the new crew arrive, they will start out with one of the playrooms and the 3 will have the other….same with the new greenhouses…?

Mave does have a look of pure joy on her face as she encounters her new play spaces. Indeed, it is heartening to see these three demonstrate their curiosity, in whatever coloration their reaction occurs (as with the aqua-green tint to Honey B at the beginning of the video). I hope that, soon, Dora, Gordo, Rayne, Terry and the brothers Cy and Lucky will find the new accommodations to their liking.

More paper please!
Wow! The CSNW chimps have the most incredible playhouse home. It must have been so much for the humans designing it, figuring out how all the essentials could be configured to give more. A firefighter’s pole. Firehouse vines. Tree branches and leaves. Windows and sunlight and views everywhere. Just wonderful. :o)

It’s almost too much to absorb! I am chuckling over Willy B climbing with ease after recalling an older post by J.B. when Willy first ventured out to the platform in his yard and he looked slightly clumsy climbing up the structures stairs. But look at him now! And Mave looked funny going up that big staircase. Curious if it’s the first time they’ve been on stairs?! Honey B looks settled in with her scooter close by, fanny pack tucked in, and a big paper nest — life IS good!
Two rooms in two days. Outrageous views. Excellent chase raceways. Climbing trees!! And countless windows to spy from. It is paradise.

The new space looks great! It must have really been a great experience for the contractors and workers being able to build a home for a different style of client. Plus I am sure they all learned a bit more about chimpanzees in general. So cool.

I couldn’t be happier for Mave, Honey B, and Willy B! I’ve been waiting for this day to arrive for a long time, and it’s just great to see them explore and soak up their newfound freedom. Now, I can’t wait for the greenhouses to be built, and then for the expanded yard to be constructed. But, most of all, I can’t wait until the new six arrive. So exciting to be a part of CSNW right now!

What a luxery to have 2 new playrooms….and I also was pleasently surprised to see how Willy B is climbing and moving around; he has come far since his first outdoor adventure….
All three seem very happy and delighted in their new spaces.
I was wondering about Honey B. doe she ever wear those fannypacks?; clicking the two thingeys together and wearing them like she does with the headbands?
Tobin says
I don’t know if or how she clicks the ends of the fanny-packs together but, rest assured, there are pictures of Honey B Fashionable rocking her fannypacks. Presumably they are large enough to store a scrub brush if/when the need arises for her to scrub away (yet another!) spot that her human employees have overlooked (again!)…”it’s just so hard to find good help these days”, I can imagine her sighing in disappointment.
