A friend of me recently told me that they find observing cattle to be emotionally grounding. For sure, a serenely grazing cow radiates peace.
It’s difficult to tell when cattle are truly happy since they express their emotions in a way that seems alien to most humans. Still, there is a notable contrast between a calm bovine and an excited or anxious one. We who work with these creatures learn to differentiate between these various behavioral states and use this wisdom to safely provide optimal care.
In a more spiritual sense, I also love to watch the Moo Crew peacefully munch on a bale of grass hay, browse through the willows along the creek, or mow down an overgrown pasture like a band of professional landscapers. They bring me joy.
Today, we’re sharing the Jerseys and their zen-like bliss with you all. Please feel free to hop in your Gator, grab a bale of your own, and join in.

Thank you so very much, Anthony, for sharing the wonderful appetites of your four cattle. I do not think that I have seen a video of them before.
You are very correct, that watching them gives a sense of peace, and, tranquility. I identify with your sentiments, and, your joke at the end of your piece. I cannot appreciate how that dried up, dead looking grass/hay can be so delicious to them!

There is definitely a peace that comes while watching cows. I used to spend a lot of time just hanging out with our moos, while they were grazing in the sunny pasture. Thanks for sharing this.

And the perfect music to go along w/ the munchings! What is this piece, if you know, Anthony? Thanks for this lovely video of them!

Lunch with the Moo Crew is very different than lunch with The Ten. No blowing raspberries, no food grunts and squeaks, just steady, non-stop happy chewing. And they arrive at the hay buffet with the most fantastic hairdos. Betsy has a perfect jelly roll! Perfect! Thank you Anthony for sharing these 5 relaxing minutes of your 4 content (and very lucky) bovine buddies. Oh, and that ending — what a view!!

Hi Anthony this was such a lovely and calming video. Thank you. I wish that all animals could have such a peaceful and tranquil place to call home. It looks so beautiful there.

I agree with the previous sentiments: this is an enjoyable video to watch, even absent of food squeaks and Dinosaur groans of satisfaction. I hope that some of the Moo Crew’s neighbors who are prone to climb to the top of platforms (Willy B, Annie, Foxie, et al) also find the cattle to be aesthetically pleasing to view.

I was just thinking that we hadn’t seen the bovines for a while and here you all are. Many thanks.a I watched the video before reading your blog and all I could think of was peace and joy….then I scrolled down and saw that it brings the same feelings to you too. Any stress just flies out of the window when you watch this laid back crew. Love the hairstyles….all are having a good hair day! How long until they get to roam in the summer pasture?

Hey Anthony, “cowboy’ of the sanctuary…
When I saw the titel of the blog I just new it had to be your day.
I have to say, that was a wonderfully peaceful video.
But to me it seemed like there were 8 different cows; I have a hard time recognizing any of them because they look different every time…
