My goodness today was a busy day! We had two great parties for the chimps and a staff meeting too! The seven celebrate with a Hill forage and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. On the other side Honey B, Willy B, and Mave celebrated with some pots of gold in the chute as well as a St. Patrick themed meal. What was on the menu you might be asking? Of course, there was lots of cabbage, beets, potatoes, and corn! Since today was so busy I thought maybe I would let the photos speak for themselves.
Here is a photo of the three’s pots of gold(en potatoes). It was a great day to eat in the chute and sit in the warm sunshine.
And another photo of what was for lunch!
Negra was the first one out for the party!
Jody got a few good hauls of cabbage.
Burrito didn’t do too bad either.
Missy zipped around everyone snatching up cabbage and potatoes left and right!
Annie took a more low key approach than Missy.
Foxie took a birds eye view approach.
And Jamie, well Jamie did every well for herself :).
I love this photo of her.
The three didn’t really want their photos taken today, but I managed to get a few.
When Mave saw lunch she got very excited! You can see she is pilo in this photo. Mave was hooting and asking for reassurance.
Willy B enjoying some corn!
And Honey B enjoying her pot of gold(en potatoes).

Nice to see them chowing down on a healthy lunch. I wish I ate as healthily as them. And nice to see Negra outside, what a hoot with what looks like her lunch laid out in a buffet line in front of her. Happy St. Pat’s!

Oh, a happy Paddy’s Day all around! I love that you left Neggie’s favorite in “her” cabin! Great shots of everyone!

And how happy did it make you feel when you read :
“Negra was the first one out for the party!”
Brings me the same pleasure and I find I sometimes let out a wee whisper of “Yipee!” for her. I am so excited to be heading into Negra Season.

Oh, what great photographs! It looks like some foraging chimpanzees had the luck o’ th’ Irish today. Now, if only Young’s Hill can have the same fortune as the Emerald Isle had when St. Padraig rid that land of snakes, I think that Annie, Burrito, Maeve, et al, will be in good stead for the next six months.

You guys are always creative when it comes to party catering concepts but that pot of gold(en) potatoes might just be the best yet. Brilliant! Love seeing Negra in her windproof cabin surrounded by corn cobs (6!!). The last two photos of Jamie, oh so sweet. Look at her face, her expressions made my day. And of course Mave was all excited, according to one of your past blogs “Mave” is Irish right?!
Thanks for sharing photos of the St. Paddy’s Day festivities Kelsi. I am pretty certain that Young’s Hill is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. And I pretty certain that 10 chimpanzees and 4 bovines would agree with me.

Great photo’s Kelsi, and of course Mave got very excited…..POTATOES for an Irish woman… that was a treat!
I was wondering; do you boil the potatoes a little or give them raw? ( since it is not healthy for humans to eat raw potatoes..)?

The pots of gold are brilliant! What a terrific way to celebrate St. Pats.

Thank you all for providing a wonderful celebration complete with pots of gold! I love that pic of her too.

I have no words to explain all these thoughts running through my brain. Maybe one, these darlings won the equivalent of a chimpanzee lottery game. Every time I see Burrito in the transport cage back to his new home I can see the confusion, the dread, and the terror running through his head. Everyone of y’all gave at first the 7, now the surfer dudes and awaiting 6 more!!!!!!! Bless you all….
