The sun was bright and warm today, and birds were flying around the sanctuary every which way. There is a sense of Spring in the air, even though Old Man Winter may bring his snowy forecast once more this week before being banished for the next couple of months. Regardless, everybody seems to be enjoying this lovely weather we had today.
Annie was one of the first to go outside today and just enjoy the warm air and gentle breeze.
Annie spent most the morning just sitting outside, seemingly just taking it all in. Though all seven made their way out onto the hill today, to include Negra, Annie seemed to want to soak as much of it up as she could.
Later in the afternoon, she spent time with her friend Missy grooming.
The Greenhouse is nice and warm in the afternoon and is the best place to take lay down and take it easy or take a nap.
Jody enjoying a pine branch she found on Young’s Hill:
Burrito even decided to take it easy:
But that didn’t last long! He need a very long play session with Kelsi.
Honey B, Willy B, and Mave spent most of the day grooming with each other.
Here’s a bonus photo of Mave since she’s in the back and hard to see in the previous photos.
Dinner was just served and Negra is starting to head in for her night time enrichment.
On tonight’s evening enrichment is Ice Eggs! Jamie seemed pretty satisfied with her haul.
And congratulations to the winner and all the people’s choices who won the art contest!

When I see up close how thick Neggie’s hair is, compared to when she first arrived, it makes me so happy for her.
Dear, sweet Annie. Nothing else to say…just Dear, sweet Annie…
Congrats to all of the winners! The “fall in love with” got one of my votes, because it included everyone and followed one of the sanctuary’s ideas. Plus, the heart is so “today” but being a Foxie pal, I can’t dislike the winner, either!

What wonderful pictures. To begin from the top, there is Annie clad in her new Spring wardrobe, proving once again that only people like her (and Missy, Honey B, Burrito, et al) really look good in the fur that is their exclusive property. Then there is that look on Mr. B’s freckled face during his arduous play date with his friend Kelsi. Honey B is ready for her close-up, and Neggie looks as if she is eagerly waiting her fine dining experience (as enjoyed, it appears, by Jody and trolls). Missy and Mave demonstrate their Happy Chimp yoga leg stretches.
Finally, in celebration of the CANCELLATION of Dr. Suess by our ever-vigilant Woke Thought Police, Jamie sits down for a nutritious of Ice Eggs and No Ham.

“Jamie sets down for a nutritious serving of Ice Eggs and No Ham,” I meant to type in my dyslectic manner…

The beautiful simplicity of Annie just sitting in the sun watching the world around is so poignant. I thought of what life must have been like for the years and years and years that she could not even imagine such beauty, warm sunlight, the sounds of birds and insects, the smell of the grass, and just the feel of the breeze. What a gift you have given her. xo

Beautifully stated Francoise, I couldn’t agree with more.

Thank you Chad for these glimpses of Beautiful Annie as she soaks up the warm sunshine. She is such a beautiful chimpanzee lady and seeing her outside, alone and content, is a sight that will always move me. And I never, ever tire of seeing images of Annie and Missy together. Never underestimate the importance of friendship.
Ice Eggs! Jamie the master mind looks well stocked up with todays yummy enrichment — 5 eggs all to herself. How did Neggie ever manage scoring eggs with Jamie around?! And I say “master mind” Jamie after watching the linked video (included in the description of the ballon ice eggs) of her hammering away to get to her blueberries within. Jamie will NEVER cease to amaze and delight me.
Congratulations to the contest winners! I thought all entires were worthy on the grand prize and it was difficult to vote because I favored so many. But I must confess, one of my favorite images was “Fabulous Foxie”. Thanks for allowing us to participate and vote in this fun competition!
