Today (like last Tuesday), the staff are Zoom training to sharpen our skills in positive reinforcement training (PRT) so blogging will be quick! In the meantime, take a look back at some of the posts we’ve done in the past about our ongoing training program.
Our first blog post about our program comes all the way back from May of 2015.
Next comes a post just a short time later from former staff caregiver Debbie about Negra’s PRT progress
And here’s an August 2015 update a November 2015 update and a November 2016 update
And another Negra update from October 2017
Here’s Jamie in January of 2018
Here you can see Negra’s progress from September of 2018
We’ve also been working with the Californians
Most recently, the concern of COVID-19 has made taking temperatures a priority.
Stay tuned as we get to share more progress with you in the coming months!
Anna, that was super interesting. Thanks for compiling all these PRT posts in one nice little place. It was touching and inspiring to revisit these posts, but seeing the progress/growth in their willingness to trust and cooperate (especially Negra!) in the learning process over a six year period is a testimony to the world of difference loving care can make. Loving care and patience.
I am enjoying your “Tuesdays and Thursdays off” from the blog. ; ) Hope you had a good day today!
PS: It was also fun to see old faces, like Debbie. If you are out there reading this Debbie I am sending you a big “Hello!” and I hope you are well. Believe it or not I was just thinking of you today in regard to roadside zoos……..
PS #2 : I so enjoy the video Taking Temperatures. Might be one more of my all time favorites!
Great blog Anna, and if tuesdays and thursdays “non-blogs” look like this, I would be very happy….
I do love the temperature video too.
I can hear Missy thinking: I do not need my forehead during lunch thank you very much….
Only when there is a big juicy tomatoe in front of her, she complies.
Smart cookie.
