Scooter Chase

February 12, 2021 by J.B.

Why run when you can scoot? All three of the Californians were keeping their caregivers busy after lunch today with games of chase, but only Honey B managed to play without ever getting off her butt.

This week, construction began on the first of two climbing structures in the new playrooms. These “trees” – made possible with funding from Trees for Tigers – will have nesting platforms, branches, and dozens of fire hose vines attached. Combined with the “monkey bar” ceiling, it will make all of the open space in the middle of the playrooms usable for the chimps. We’ll share more next week as they progress.

My thoughts exactly…although that little grin Honey had on het face just before she set herself up to let go of the firehose was pricelessly funny.

I was laughing out loud at this video. I know you all work very hard there all day long but so glad you have some fun too. I love the interaction between the caregivers and the Chimps. What amazing progress with the construction. Thank you Trees for Tigers!!!

Honey B is definitely her mother’s daughter! And those thighs! Wow are they muscular like her mom’s! What a sweetheart. ?

And someone dancing for Willy B in the back!
    Fun Friday at work!
The trees sound impressive! Will it be easy to reach the platforms for cleaning,

Easy? No. But possible. That’s always the challenge with chimp structures.

Honey B is one smooth operator casually scooting back and forth while Diana dashes, sways and stomps. I agree with Tom. I think you all have as much fun (if not more!) as the chimps. Must be a relief in-between all the cleaning and cooking. And Willy B appears to be giving Kelsi a workout, literally. Nice moves!

I can’t wait to see the “trees”, sounds so cool! So many creative minds joining together, this project is going to be so avant garde the playroom might appear in the summer issue of Jamie’s favorite Dwell magazine.

Thank you Trees for Tigers for always taking good care of the chimps. You guys are amazing!

I wonder what Mave was doing while this active play was going on…just hanging??

She was downstairs at the time the video was filmed but she was involved in the shenanigans before and afterwards.

You need your “A” game when you come to work! This looked like it was fun for everyone. Next time you should try a scooter on your side too and see what happens!
