As the day is winding down, the chimpanzees are about to be served dinner. On tonight’s menu is watermelon, sweet potatoes, celery, and their daily night bags filled with sunflower and pumpkin seeds, popcorn, and dried fruit.
I would say tonight’s dinner was a hit with both groups.
With their bellies full and the evening enrichment puzzles solved, the chimpanzees are beginning to build their nests for the night.
Have a wonderful evening everybody!

I was just wondering what time most of the chimps are settled in for the night and do they sleep most of the night?

I seem to remember some crazy hour when it’s still light out, like 5.30…..but the pics of Jamie racing the gator at sunset would contradict that

I am now craving watermelon. Nothing says summer like sweet, super juicy watermelon. I love how Negra loves her night bags. Kills me when she demandingly claps at you in the hopes to speed things up so she can get her bag sooner.
Reading the blog is like receiving my night bag — it’s full of goodies and the perfect way to end every day. Have a nice evening Chad.

I bought a little yesterday! I will not, however, be wadging the rinds….

I always think of Annie’s face as the quintessential chimp’s face, but these pics make me realize that one thing about Annie’s face is that it’s hard to read…she’s not as expressive as Jo or Neggie.
Speaking of Neggie, there’s that Buddha belly, about to be covered in sunflower seed shells…
