A Day Outside

July 15, 2020 by Kelsi

Yesterday was World Chimpanzee Day! If you missed Chad’s blog yesterday, make sure you give it a read! Currently, we are doing some much needed revamping in the playroom. So the chimps have been spending quite a lot of time in the green house, front rooms, and Young’s Hill. They are patiently waiting so far, but these chimps are really looking forward to going back into the playroom soon! Thankfully, we have been blessed with some warm weather! I think the chimps approved.

Annie:

Jamie:

Jody and Jamie grooming:

Negra enjoying the warm green house breeze:

Foxie got a new orange blossom doll today:

Honey B in what seems to be her favorite spot, in the shady part of the Chute:

Mave sprawled out on the floor cooling off:

And look at this California dream boat:

I am dying looking at the pictures of Jamie, she is hilarious! Foxie is pretty funny too with her new doll. Made my day.

if I didn’t know any better, I’d say she looked like a nun, with that blanket looking like a veil…

Can’t stop laughing, definitely ET! ET must have been showing at the mid-day matinee on Willy B’s big screen.

Wow, Fox, how many Orange Blossom dolls does a girl need!? That’s 3 this week!
California dream boat, indeed! Is he still going outside every day?

Bless their little hearts ?? I love all 10 of the chimps but lately Honey B is just more and more endearing and I’m going to take this a step farther by saying I think Honey B and I must be at least 2nd cousins. Lol….??????

Stevie, dont tell anyone but Honey B is my and my sisters favorite too. She’s so sweet and clever, i.e. skateboarding! šŸ™‚ But I love them all really. I can’t wait for these blogs and pictures each day.

I’m with the others who thought Jamie looked like E.T. That was the cutest. I had to take a second look. Love all the little things the chimps do. They always put a smile on my face.

Thanks for all the wonderful photos of the gang Kelsi. It’s rare to see a photo of Negra sleeping and not under her cozy blankets. I guess some days all you need is the sun to keep you warm.

These photos are wow, really amazing! Willy B is such a handsome guy, I’m rooting for him to make even more progress exploring the outside world. Thank you all for the updates.

I just got finished reading (and watching a film) about an elephant at Wildlife SOS who just died. I was collapsed in tears by the end of the tribute. Then I next opened your post today and it cheered me up considerably. That elephant had 75 years in chains and only 3 years of freedom, medical care and love. How fortunate all the chimps were rescued and brought to Chimp Heaven at CSNw

All of the 10 look so glossy, happy and healthy- the info on diets reminds me that more fruit and veg is the way to go. Love hearing how each has choices to make and demands to be fulfilled- Burrito is the one that makes me laugh the most, its wonderful to see him full of energy and games. Keep up the great work- and may the day soon come when Honey B will venture beyond the chute…

I love every picture; however, Jamie reminds me of E.T. With that blanket wrapped around her. Great picture!
