Fall in Love with Mave

February 14, 2020 by J.B.

Today, we present the Fall in Love with Mave video (link above)! As you know by now, becoming a Pal to one the of the chimpanzees or bovines at Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest is one of the best ways to support their ongoing care. In the spirit of the day, we hope there are a few people out there who’d like to be Mave’s valentine by signing up to be her Pal.

Speaking of Valentine’s Day, the chimpanzee celebrated the day as they do most holidays – by stuffing themselves with delicious food. Today began with a special breakfast prepared by volunteer Patti, consisting of healthy waffles topped with peanut butter. Negra, as you can imagine, was thrilled. The new guys, on the other hand, weren’t sure what to make of this unusual Valentine’s day tradition. Honey B even returned her waffles to the waitstaff by pushing them back through the caging, but after trying them she excitedly asked us to pick them all up and hand them back to her. It’s a good reminder to always taste your food before sending it back to the kitchen.

Later in the day we set out forages of fresh fruits and veggies along with shots of fruit smoothie.

Aw, smoothies and waffles! My two favorite girls must have been feeling the love!
I already said it on YT, but I’ll say it again-thanks to all of the staff and volunteers who gave up part of their V-Day for the chimps’ party!
Happy V-Day to all of the staff, volunteers, blog readers and, of course, the chimps!

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone at CSNW! Sounds like it was a festive celebration (as to be expected from you guys) — waffles and peanut butter, oh Negra, can’t tell you how happy I am for you today. I so enjoyed the video and I had no idea that Mave had some big slinky moves too. Happy to hear she gave those waffles another try. Mave is so beautifully beauty full, it is such fun discovering more and more about her as time goes on. I’ll be honest, I wish I could become an official Pal for each chimp and bovine because my heart is full of love for each one. Is it okay if say I am Pal in spirit? : )

Happy day of love to all of you! xoxo

Ha ha! Great mental image of Mave giving back the waffles and then — wait!! I made a mistake. Give ’em back! Sweet.

      Honey B.!
Yeah. At meal time, how silly, huh? Maybe this Honey B is trying to be something like the teacher’s pet with the hoomans?

The Honey B “waffle story” is just about as funny as it gets…(I can’t stop my laughing & snorting)… I LOVE it AND the beautiful (professional looking) colorful photo of the Chimp’s fruit plates…You dear people at CSN are so genuinely loving & caring when it comes to the chimps & cattle that I have a “lump” in the back of my throat…Love from Ohio…Blessings & friendship to all…
