The First Snow

November 27, 2019 by Kelsi

Well, last night was the start of the first snow of the year. I can’t say I am ever ready for it. However, with snow does come some fun enrichment! And our California chimps haven’t really explored snow before, so it is something exciting to look forward to.

Please enjoy this photo of Foxie!

***Burrito Update***

Yesterday, we had to anesthetize Burrito to check up on some of his serious wounds. We had to do a follow up procedure to make sure there were no infections. Dr. Zamzow checked on his incisions. He did really well and is recovering now! It will be a long process, but he is slowly recovering!

Burrito grooming himself, while Annie sits on a barrel and grooms Jamie:

I was wondering if y’all were getting any of that Big Snow hitting the West Coast this week, so now I know. Hope it won’t interfere with your Thanksgiving celebration(s).

So have Willy B, Honey B & Mave started exploring the Hill? If not, the new experience of Snow! might finally draw them out (fingers crossed).

    Looking forward to tomorrow! 😀

Hi Sherry! No, they haven’t really explored the Hill yet. Maybe when it really starts snowing it will intrigue them! 🙂

I do look forward to hearing the stories of chimps in the snow! Here in Minneapolis we got about 5″, less than I was expecting, but it is the first blast of what is always a long winter. Thankfully we are all cozy, and you are too. Wishing all of you a very happy Chimpsgiving!

Can’t wait to see the first reaction of Mave, Willy B and Honey B to their first snow fall.

Thanks for the update on Burrito. I think of him everyday and send vibes of well wishes his way. Poor sweet boy, I can’t help it, I worry.

PS: I just mailed my annual package to kick off the month of December, it’s heading to your PO box so keep your eyes peeled. : )
