Clean Up Crew + Enrichment for Nutmeg

March 2, 2019 by Diana

Today, well after the other chimpanzees had moved on to other post-lunch activities (specifically nesting, napping, and grooming), I “caught” Annie going through the front rooms and collecting uneaten Brussels sprouts, then taking her found food to the playroom to enjoy.

Just a few minutes later, I saw Foxie do the same thing, but this time with avocado peels (in the first photo below, see Foxie’s signature happy toes and small orange-haired troll doll stationed nearby):

Foxie was working diligently to get every last bit of avocado flesh. The chimpanzees have enjoyed an abundance of avocados lately, thanks to donations of Charlie’s Produce via Darwin’s Natural Pet Products, and that has suited Foxie just fine.

As a bonus, for those who are wondering what the bovines have been up to, here’s a video I took yesterday!

    What a wonderful video !
Yes, I think you might need body size brushes, They sure look like Happy cows.
Nutmeg might win the Cutest award today, but its hard to beat Foxie’s Happy toes.

That brush clearly “hit the spot(s)” for Nutmeg!

Nice that they have enough food for there to be “leftovers”………Annie loves her sprouts, and Foxie’s happy toes always make ME happy!
A ginger steer has to keep his ‘do in shape!

Sooo happy to see Annie enjoying her Brussels sprouts!! I love seeing pics of that sweet Annie. Especially alerting for snakes.
I definitely think Nutmeg needs a bigger brush.

Nice to know none of the beautiful produce goes to waste! Annie and Foxie sure seem to be loving the extra snacks. Just look at their faces…and toes. Sending a big love filled Thank You to Charlie’s Produce and Darwin’s Natural Pet Products, you rock.

Thanks for the video of the cows enjoying their new barn enclosure. Looks as if Nutmeg needs at minimum four scrub brushes stacked 2 by 2. But, then again, doesn’t appear as if Nutmeg even cares about the size because it appears to getting the job done. The bovines are beauties, give each one a big scratch from me.

Maybe the whole post should be a scrub brush. Thanks for the photo of Foxie and her happy feet. She always brings a smile to my heart. And I always love seeing Annie. Thanks for all the joy you bring to their lives and mine. <3

I am inclined to agree. This post is a visual scrub brush for the mind and soul. And Nutmeg has a nifty hair-do, too.
