As we head into 2019 we have a celebratory gift of a day of sanctuary for the chimpanzees from Christine Hines!
“On this, the last day of the year, I am feeling grateful for discovering CSNW and the Cle Elum 7. I wish all of you a wonderful 2019 and am looking forward to watching CSNW grow!”
Christine, from our hearts, thank you for ending 2018 on such a kind and compassionate note. I think it’s safe to say that at the start of this year we could never have imagined all that the love for these seven chimpanzees has grown and manifested. We’re grateful to you for being part of our chimp family. And we can’t wait to see all that the love surrounding them brings to their family in the year ahead. Happy New Year!
Negra, someone who embodies, this year more than ever, all that love, care, and home make possible:
Wishing the chimps and all their human friends a healthy and happy new year!
I wish Negra, Ellie, Jody, Betsey, Burrito, Honey, Foxie, Nutmeg, Jamie, Meredith,
Annie and Missy, and their human attendants a healthy and happy new year in 2019.
This blog, and the people I read about and see featured each day, are a sign of light and love in a dark and brutal time. Thank you, CSNW, for all that you do to heal and renew our world.
Is that Negra climbing a structure? I wasn’t sure she hadn’t done so and let her “subjects” do the climbing. I must have missed a blog report I’m surprised since look forward to reading all the blogs everyday.
Thank you all for the care and respect you show these beautiful ladies
AND gentleman.
The pics are recycled pics. But she does climb up to the catwalk and the greenhouse, for nesting, so she must be doing some climbing, even is she’s not at Missy’s level. 🙂
Happy New Year to the Cle Elum 7 and all of those who walk bipedally and care for them! Wishing you peace, happiness, love in the New Year. For Neggie, I wish you the top of the pineapple, always, lots of lettuce, and peanuts, peanuts, peanuts! For Jamie, since you have new boots, I wish a new hobby to busy your hands and your mind. For Missy, an unending supply of tomatoes, socks for your left foot, and sunny days to enjoy the firehose tightrope. For Annie, I wish more time with Missy, of course! For Jody, I wish pumpkins at least once a week. For Foxie, a new fascinating doll. For Burrito, the King of Reassurance, I wish a day when you’re not tackled into a corner by some female looking for reassurance, food to fill you, and for the girls not to ditch you when they go out on patrol! Happy New Year, all!
Hi Kristopher, Yes! That is indeed Negra! I couldn’t find the exact blog post that was from, but if you look back over the summer and autumn blogs there are a handful of Negra climbing, particulary the newest structure we refer to as the “Escher.” She continues to surprise us with each passing year. 🙂 Thanks for following the chimps’ lives!
