Night bags

December 7, 2018 by J.B.

At the end of each day the chimps are each given a “night bag” filled with nuts, seeds, dried fruit, and popcorn. Unlike the rest of their meals, which they typically devour as fast as possible, night bags are savored. It’s as close to meditation as you can get for an animal as frenetic as a chimpanzee.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. If you created an app with nothing but video loops of them eating, it would be a HUGE hit! 😀

    Cheers, Jeeb.

I so agree! It is always a pure pleasure to watch (and hear!) the chimps enjoying their healthy meals and snacks. Can’t get enough. And I love the tradition of Night Bags most of all. Such a cozy, comfortable, perfect way to end the day (them eating the Night Bags and me watching them eat the Night Bags!)
