A Gift for Jamie

December 22, 2018 by Diana

We know Jamie and what she likes pretty well. It’s a great feeling to see her so happy with a gift we created just for her.

If you’ve been to our galas in Seattle (next year’s is June 15, 2019!), you might recognize some of the pieces that were included in her gift.

She is the most interesting and brightest chimp in the captive chimp world. I am always amazed at her ability to be so engaged and engaging. I’m in love with this chimp!

I know she started life with a human family, but I still feel awe at the fact that she holds the pencil, not in her fist, but the “proper” way…..I’m always astounded by that. And, of course, she’s a lefty (all the best people are! šŸ™‚

Do the other chimps ever show interest in coloring, drawing or writing?

I think that Jamie’s artwork could raise some big money at the auction.
I know I would bid on it !
I could watch this video all day, I love the look on her face, well, I just love Jamie.

My thoughts exactly. How I wish Jamie was President!

As everyone noted above, Jamie holds her writing tool just like we would (oh so cool), and she is, at this moment, a leftie! But I am curious if she writes with both hands (something tells me she might.). And I see Jamie was totally unimpressed with my annual report postcard, totally dismissed it. Ouch! I will have to do better next year to be sure The Boss is impressed. It looked as if Ms. Foxie was very curious about all the pieces in Jamie’s professional binder. Maybe Foxie could be the Managing Assistant to The Boss.

Thanks for the video Diana. I have a special place in my heart just for Jamie.

What an amazing Chimp Jamie really is. I loved past videos where she turned each and every page of a book that was made just for her by a donor. That she holds the crayon just like a hukman totally amazes me. Her deep concentration as she looked at each piece of paper that was In that folder shows how bright she really is. I truly love Jamie.
