Spring has Sprung

March 25, 2018 by Kelsi

Spring has sprung and there is nothing but happy chimps here at Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest! We had chimps (Negra and friends) baking at the top of the platform in the Greenhouse, Missy asking for the barn doors to be open, Foxie playing wild games of chase, Jamie walking on the Hill & enjoying lots of grooming sessions with her boots, Burrito and Jody hanging out & grooming all day, and Missy and Annie chasing all over the place. Foxie was nice enough to let me get another photo shoot in and Jamie also let me get a few snaps before we started a game of chase this morning!

Loved this post. In the 5th picture she has her arm out with the doll in her hand as if she is letting her baby see the surroundings. I took my blood pressure before opening up my computer: 125/79. Took it a few minute later while looking at that picture and it went down to 118/76. I don’t think that’s a coincidence — pets (even those on a computer) do lower your blood pressure

I was going to post a comment but, no, instead everything you’ve written is exactly what I was going to post. Thank you. The chimps never fail to amaze me.

Thanks for this, JB–this is a really beautiful post along with some really love photos. What a great way to start my day–quietly with Foxie.

    Hey, Jeeb,

I love the way you’ve captioned each one of these photos, building tension until at last, we have release with your ending, in which you’ve juxtaposed the coming chaos, with the sweet peacein the here and now. Every once in awhile, we’d do better to follow suit.

    Beautifully done. ????

What a day, sounds perfect. Those first three shots of Foxie are simply beautiful! And Jamie has her Mona Lisa smile going on in the first photo of her. I love that expression of hers. Looks like Jody is imagining a spring forage on the hill. Soon, spring will be in full bloom, soon…..
