Tiny Big

January 30, 2017 by Katelyn

Foxie is a tiny chimpanzee woman. But her size is no indication of the amount of joy, courage, fierceness, adventure, spirit and joy she walks, flips and spins through life with. Nor is it any indication of the amount of love this one heart holds for her.

Lovely, lovely words. Sweet, precious Foxie images too, especially the top photo. As always, I felt a tug on my heartstrings and had a hitch in my throat when I read your introduction. Your love and compassion comes to life in your words Katelyn. I know Foxie and the other chimps must feel your love for them. As a designer, I have this image of you in my mind where you have a colorful aura radiating outwards all around you. Does this happen?!

Thanks for brightening my day with this post.

Kathleen, how beautiful of you to say – I’m really touched, thank you. You gave me a “tug” and a “hitch” in return. Thank you for loving these chimps so. And for bringing so much beauty and love into all our lives.

Foxie is the reason we donated to CSNW. She was in such terrible shape when she arrived and now look at her! What an amazing chimp. I’ll never forget our first meeting only a year after the sanctuary was completed and the chimps were adjusting to their new lives. She had discovered troll dolls and walked around with one on her back and played catch with the staff with a few of the others. Wonderful recovery due to love and devotion and a safe environment in which to live and flourish.

And it’s because of a story on Foxie that I first learned about your wonderful sanctuary so I am especially grateful and devoted to her

Elaine, we’re so glad you found us through Foxie’s story. Thank you for being part of our chimp family.
