Photos from today and Negra’s Journey

May 22, 2014 by Debbie

Check out this post on One Green Planet we posted today about Negra. It’s truly a wonderful story and we’d love it if you would share it on social media, or just forward the link to your friends!

Here’s some pictures I took today — the weather is absolutely gorgeous so we set up a quick lunch forage for the chimps to enjoy!

And then she took her pile inside to enjoy and let me snap this nice head shot of her:

Love Negra’s story on One Green Planet. Will share with everyone!

The photo of Jamie checking out some welding work J.B. was doing is astounding — look at her! She looks so healthy with her coat glistening in the sun. Jamie looks happy, curious, healthy and wonderful. What a difference 6 years has made.

I loved the article about Negra, her life story is so horrible, I’m so glad NEGRA is at CSNW where she is REVERED as QUEEN ( of the Hill, Young s Hill that is, )
Life for her now, is splendid, full filling, and healthy.. we all can see just how far Negra has come since her arrival, We all love you Negra,

Thankfully, there are people like those at CSNW who love and care for Negra and for the other six lucky residents of this incredible sanctuary. If you look at the photos of their arrival 6 years ago, you will see pathetic, psychologically damaged, frightened, unhealthy apes who became that way at the hands of man. Six years later, they are totally different chimps. They are healthy, happy, and they are slowly getting over the psychological damage of their pasts. They have the opportunity for a different life by the hands of man, different hands, kind and generous hands who value each life with dignity and respect. Thank you all at CSNW for all that you do for the Cle Elum Seven and for making Negra Queen of the Sanctuary!

Thank you,Karen Young, for making Young s Hill possible, It has totally changed their lives and it given them all the ability to EXPLORE, Its given them all such a sense of FREEDOM, for the first time in their precious lives, they can choose where, and when, to enjoy their hill.
I’ve never met the chimps, but I can see just much the hill has benefited each and every chimp in a manner unique to its own, individual personality,. The infamous walks Jamie enjoys , the once shy, frightened Burrito, now unafraid to run and explore the hill . Negra who barely went past the door, now venture to her Negra’s cabin.
Your support has truly enriched the chimps lives daily, Thank You.
Thank You for giving CSNW the resources to build Young’s Hill.
