Happiness on the hill

July 18, 2012 by Jackie

Missy was such a goof when I opened the door to Young’s Hill this morning! She ran right out (and lots of folks followed her) and went up to the new climbing structure in the bamboo.

After sitting there for a little while, she decided to get a better view of the hill:

And then goofiness with her best friend Annie ensued

Everything is so lush and green. I wonder if it brings back memories of home?

I think that last photo of the two BFFs and their tushes is one of my all-time favorites!!

A wonderful happy pictoral series! Thank you so much for capturing these Jackie!! I was surprised by the (apparent) size difference in the two in the last photo — which one is on the right? She seems so small, in fact the chimp sitting on the left is nearly as tall. Is there that big a difference in their sizes or is that just the angle?

Dawn – it does look like Annie (left) is bigger than Missy (right) in the last photo. It sort of looks like it in the 3rd photo from the bottom as well. Annie must be eating her Wheaties 🙂

Yes, you guys are both correct. Missy is on the right and is much smaller than Annie.

Maybe that’s why it’s so easy for her to shimmy up that climbing pole!

Missy certainly gives Annie a workout!! I love these two together and the photos are outstanding, Jackie–thank you! Such happy chimps. Hope the other 5 enjoyed their day outside as well.

    Awhhhh! I love these photos.

They remind me of all the great times my best friend Missy and I have had through our lives, except I was usually the one picking on Missy 🙂

Great photo’s Jackie; what fun they must have had today!

LOL! What a beautiful day it looked like and great fun. They clearly love those climbing structures – thanks again boy scouts and all who helped!

They could NOT be having any more fun. Wow, love these photos! Thanks to all who helped make it possible for the chimps to have these structures, from you guys to the Boy Scouts, and everybody!
    Wow, fun fun fun!

I simply cannot say enough how beautiful that dark chimp body looks among all that green.

Best Pictures yet! The chimps are so happy and look as though they momentarily can forget their horrible past – thank-you so much for putting the smiles back on these BFF’S faces.

These just really do your heart good, especially if you look back (or just think back) to their life before and personalities when they arrived. And I’m not sure if its just me or if Missy always looks like shes up to something? My favorite being one of the go pro videos when at the end she looks over her shoulder at the cam as if to “check to see” if anyone or anything is watching then taking off full sprint as if she’d been “caught”. Thanks for sharing
