Undercover

September 1, 2011 by Jackie

Missy has a way of making almost everything she does, no matter how mundane, silly. She has been thoroughly enjoying putting sheets and blankets over her head lately- both during play and while resting in her nest- and she incorporated that into her nesting technique today. Every addition to her nest, whether it be a sheet, a blanket, or a fire hose, began over her head and lingered for a bit before moving on to the next thing.

Once her nest was just right, she threw one more blanket over her and took a nap.

Ahhh, Missy Miss. For the last couple of months she has been just as silly as silly gets. When ever the staff moves the chimps from one area to another for cleaning or other reasons we have to do “safety checks” which consists of two people identifiying each chimp by face and then checking the doors and the locks. Lately Miss Missy has been hinding from me while I have been trying to do my checks. The Playroom has several places that are very hard if not impossible to see the chimps. Missy knows each of these places and uses them to hide from me, or she will cover herself with a blanket so I can’t see her face. If this goes on for too long we have to give them a snack so they will show their faces. Missy likes her snacks…………………

Such a spunk Missy! Thank goodness for snacks. I use this method all the time to get my dogs to get moving, walk the direction I want to take them, or whatever needs to happen!!! Love the photos, thank you.
