Tomorrow is the big day! We are all freaking out (in a good way). The chimps are ready, we’re ready and we know you are ready to see them out on the hill.
See the announcement about the big day.
Today, the final touches were put on the hill, including the concrete on what we are now calling the Treat Rock, which mimics a termite mound where the chimps can “fish” for treats we place in pipes mounted in the rock.

This is so exciting. What time do you expect to open the doors. I hope you’ll be blogging as they get out there. I can’t wait to see their reaction.

Kat, yesterday when I was up to the sanctuary JB had said he was going to try for 11 am pacific time. His thought’s were to serve a small breakfast at 9:30 (regular time for b-fast). Then we will have to clean and set up a large forage on the hill for an early lunch.
Denice says
Wheeeew…. that was cutting it a little close, but the “Hill” is ready for the chimps and the chimps are ready for the “Hill”.
I’m so excited and I know I am not the only one who just can’t wait to see and hear all about the hours after the raceway door is opened.
Tomorrow is going to be a mixed bag of emotions and I have my kleenex ready.

OH MY GOSH! OH MY GOSH! OH MY GOSH!
A time would be greatly appreciated so I can send my good thoughts toward CSNW at that exact moment. To Karen & Don Young, Bethany & Euan Menzies, the National Anti-Vivisection Society and all of the donors from last year’s auction, THANK YOU. May all the blessings you given to the CSNW 7 come back to you twofold.
I think the illustration by Philip Herman is absolutely adorable. I don’t know if he spoke with you all, watched the videos, or both, but he’s spot on with their individuality. Job well done, Mr. Herman.

I’m so excited, I may have trouble sleeping tonight! And I’m going to be checking the blog every 5 minutes, all day long tomorrow. LOL.
Blessings be to Keith and the whole CSNW universe of contributors and volunteers and staff for bringing the CE7 from small cages in a basement hallway to … open sky and room to RUN!

I hope everyone there has their camera batteries charged and lots of memory cards because we want wall-to-wall coverage!!! Sending all of you and especially the Special 7 all good wishes for a happy introduction to Young’s Hill! And I add my thanks and blessings to all who made it happen!

Woo Hoo! I bet they know something is up. Wonder who will be the first one out. They will do it in their own time but it should be interesting to see their reactions. Thanks to all for making this possible– It is a beautiful view from the top.

WONDERFUL WONDERFUL WONDERFUL. Thank you to ALL the CSNW folks who have built the hill; thanks to Don and Karen Young for sponsoring it, thanks to JB for his constant studying and working to get Young’s Hill JUST RIGHT! We are so excited we can’t stand it! NOTHING is too good for our seven.

I am so excited. I feel like its me that is about to experience the outdoors. I can’t tell you how much this means to me. I wish I could experience the 7 munchkins emotions when they first step out. I may be a 33 year old male but I can’t imagine how you could not have tears of excitement and a heart rate at an unsafe 50 million beats per second just thinking about tomorrow. Its like Christmas when you were 5 years old times a million. I wish I could be up there for this special day. Please take so many pictures you will never be able to look through them all so we can all be there through your eyes.

That there Treat Rock is gonna be a mighty cool enrichment/hangout spot! I can’t wait to hear about the Chimpanzees’ new adventures on Young’s Hill…..I’m guessing tomorrow might be pretty stressful for some of them, so I’ll be sending happy, loving thoughts their way all day. <3

I am so excited about the opening of young’s hill! Wish I could celebrate with you all in a big way, but I can’t, so I send all of my love to the seven and wish them the best sunshine ever for the 20th!
