Missy on Facebook

April 24, 2011 by Sarah

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Missy color before, but today she marched over to a box of crayons sitting on the platform, carried them to a goodie bag, pulled a coloring book out, peeled two crayons, and started to color.  “Like” Missy on Facebook and you can see the pics!

I enjoyed the pictures of Missy with her crayons and coloring book, she’s a sweetheart. They don’t eat the crayons, do they, crayons can’t be very tasty? I’m glad Missy’s trying something new. and I’m glad you got to photograph the occassion.

Candy, yes, chimpanzees eat crayons! And paint. I don’t think they would be very tasty either, but they seem to enjoy them. Luckily, I guess young humans taste them too, so most crayons and paint suitable for kids is non-toxic (and we make sure of that before we give it to the chimps).
