toyful nest

Good morning Negra

April 27, 2011 by Sarah

Free-living chimpanzees make their sleeping nests out of branches in the treetops. At CSNW, the chimps have a few more options. Here’s a private view of what Negra used to make her nest last night. Note the peanut shells – remnants of her favorite treat!

Looks like Neggie has everything she needs for a good night’s sleep and plenty to keep her occupied if she isn’t sleeping. Quite a nest, Negra girl!

I feel as if we’ve stumbled upon Negra’s secret stash. It’s as if she doesn’t want us to see her playing, during the day, but from the look of her goodies she makes up for lost time during the night.

    How’s Foxie’s nest-building skills these days?
