Can a chimpanzee over-lounge?

April 10, 2011 by Elizabeth

I don’t think so. As Diana said in her blog post yesterday, lounging in the greenhouse is pretty much a full-time job for the chimpanzees this time of year. It’s so nice and warm in there that we’ve even joked about installing a hammock in the human area of the greenhouse to facilitate human lounging as well. But alas, at CSNW, the humans work and the chimpanzees lounge, and we — and the chimps — wouldn’t have it any other way.

Marie, there are many a spring day when the work is done (well it’s never done but maybe caught up enought for us to relaxe a moment) and we cargivers just like to sit with the chimps and lounge and enjoy the weather and company. I think the chimps like it as much as the caregivers do…

It is an added bonus not only do we get to make their living space clean and comortable but we get to watch and lounge with them on occasion.

After the horrors these beautiful people have been through… it is so wonderful that they can lounge, feel safe and be content. Thank you for healing their hearts and souls..

No such thing as over lounging for the 7. They finally have a place they get comfortable and the are taking advantage of it. Love the photos!
