Spring Fever

March 25, 2011 by Jackie

The other day it was finally warm enough that I could open the barn doors in the playroom. Because of the cold it’s been a while since we could do that, so the chimps were so excited! Everyone started pant hooting and ran over to enjoy the fresh air. Jody immediately began to build a giant nest using several blankets and a sleeping bag but alternated between nesting and chasing silly Annie and Missy around the playroom. Jamie put her hands in the kiddy pool and chased folks around with it. Everyone was super playful and goofy, and spent quite a bit of time hanging out and enjoying the sun and spring-like air.

Here are a couple of photos of Jamie relaxing in the green hand chair donated several months ago by volunteer Pam:

And Jody in her sleeping bag nest:

Happy Spring, everyone!

If ever a picture was worth 1,000 words Jamie cradled by a hand – exactly what sanctuary is all about! And just a smattering of what we owe them for all they’ve been thru for us for all these years, plus being great pictures!

If the CE7 get excited about the barn doors being opened just think about how excited they will be once Young’s Hill is open to them.

I know how they feel, when you’ve been cooped up, during the winter, and all of a sudden everything starts blooming, the temperature’s just right and the sun’s shining brightly, I love this time of year.

Did Jamie carry the “hand” chair to the barn door, then lay down on it?

It’s funny you should ask that, Candy. I wasn’t able to get it on camera, but to go along with all silliness, Jamie stood on top of the chair and slid herself over to the barn doors, much like she did with the white barrel in this video from last year: https://chimpsnw.org/2010/05/jamies-new-mode-of-transportation/

        🙂

I’d forgotten about Jamie’s chair slide, gotta love her.

Yes, Jamie and her sisters and brother are in good “hands” now! Sending love to them this spring that we’ve all been waiting for! 🙂
