Happy Halloween!

November 1, 2010 by Jackie

From new boots to pomegranates; from pears, apples, and green onions, to grapes, oranges, and pineapple coconut juice; from pinatas to new troll dolls; yesterday may have been the most exciting party at CSNW to date. The food squeaks lasted for at least 30 minutes! It was quite a day!

In addition to the video, I thought I would post a couple of my personal favorite pictures from the party– but FYI, they aren’t the ones saved for $33 donations in honor of Jamie’s day! Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!

A spooky Mr. Burrito:

This blog has come such a long way with stunning photos and video, beautiful pictures of Mr. B. I agree with Jeani, the chimps did look very content and secure in their surroundings. Loved this long video, especially with Foxie giving her seal of approval at the end of it.

I’m pretty sure I could listen to an entire CD of just their food squeaks!! Great party!!!

Question…….When the chimps eat the pomegranates do they eat the entire thing (including the membranes in between the seeds)? I love them, but find that the membrane skin tastes pretty bad.

Thanks for the great video Jackie and pics of Mr. B. That’s my boy!! 🙂

They actually eat everything but the rind! 🙂

I could watch the video all day and yes listening to the food squeaks is part of the reason. It just doesn’t get any better than this! Foxie sure knows how to put her feelings into it. Well done!

What a wonderful video. I loved Burrito with his pomegranates and Halloween drink with straws. Jamie’s “unwrapping” of the package is genius and I LOVE seeing Foxie so pleased,

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!! Yes, please release a CD of food squeaks!! It is the best thing ever to see all the chimps so happy and content……and Foxie just melted my heart. **Sigh** Thank you SO much for making that possible for them.

I love this video. Burrito’s food squeaks make me so happy and Foxie just touches my heart. So polite not taking the doll out herself and then so content at the end. Thanks so much for posting these videos!

I am so glad they are happy. It is amazing how smart they are and how much we are both alike.
It makes me sick to think of the torture they went through in animal testing. Is there anyway you can help with the chimps that are retired at Alamagordo in New Mexico but some are going to be shipped back to Texas to go back into testing. I have been writing to Jane Goodall and her institute plus Save the Chimps in New Mexico and Florida to see if they can help. Also Peta is trying to prevent them from being taken out of retirement. I have moved up to Norther Idaho, an hour south of Spokane. I am closer to you. Where are you so I can visit? I get paid on the 17th and I will send you a nice donation.
Thanks for all the mental stimulation, the goodies and treats for these 7 cuties!!

Love the food squeaks! It’s not hard to pick out Burrito’s vocalizations…lol. The parties just get better and better and the chimps get happier. It’s really heartwarming to see them enjoying their enrichment so much. My girl, Foxie, says it all with her happy dance!
