If you are signed up for our E-newsletter, you know we talked about some of Annie’s antics in the latest edition. You may have wondered about some of them, namely her “bird noises”, and I don’t blame you– it sounds weird! But it happens, and here’s proof, along with some of her other silly antics.

Love watching the Annie-isms and seeing and hearing new things, like the clapping feet, not seen that before. The bird chirping noises are different as well, but as we have seen before Annie likes to try and get Missy between her teeth, in playful mode of course.

Annie continues to surprise me. The bird chirping sounded a little like a puppy crying too. Maybe clapping her feet was a way to console herself if her arms were restrained in the lab. We’ll probably never know but I’m just happy Annie is where she is now and has her best friend Missy by her side.

It is awesome to watch Annie nowadays ejoying here life. I have followed the site since long before the Chimps arrived and usually I am a reader not a commenter. I find all Chimps AMAZING and the transformation these Chimps went through is also AMAZING. Great Job to CNSW and all the selfless individuals who work there to make a better life for these animals. I truelly enjoy Videos like this where you learn about a Chimps personality and thier quirks if you will. Thank You CNSW for all of your hard work and everything that you do. Keep smiling Annie!

Wow – that was pretty amazing! Sounded a great deal like a bird one would encounter in the jungle to me — I’m impressed. 🙂

She does sound like a rain forest bird! I just love these chimps and their “isms”. It’s been so great to see each one of them coming out of their shell. When I was at Chimp Eden, I heard two sounds from a chimp that made my mouth drop open. Zeena, a juvenile, liked to throw tantrums when she wanted attention. She would throw her arm around her neck and make this horrible strangling noise that made the others scatter. It would literally hurt your ears. Then one morning I was at the fence just sitting and watching her and Joao, the oldest male there, play. I heard lots of chimp laughter and then a loud snort. It sounded exactly like a pig…LOL. I couldn’t believe it. I was told by the sanctuary manager that he had never heard those strangling sounds or a chimp snort like a pig in all his years of taking care of chimps. It was quite an experience to hear!

Theresa, I can actually see Zeena doing something like that.

Sweet, sweet Annie, I adore her! Of course, I adore all the chimps. So good to see her and all the chimps personalities continuing to come out. Love the feet clapping and the bird noises are fascinating. A girl of many talents!

I love the way Annie’s coming out of her shell, day-by-day. Now I want to see Jody let loose, become more playful and join in more activities with the other chimps.
