Spring grass

April 10, 2010 by Diana

We’ve had some crazy weather here the last few weeks. Today, though, actually felt like Spring. Most of the snow melted and revealed patches of grass, which Annie spotted when the human door to the greenhouse was opened. Annie loves grass, as you know from last spring and summer, so J.B. felt he had to give everyone a taste.

Annie wiggling in excitement is pretty darn cute! 🙂 LOL!

    Love Jody and Annie’s hug!
It was early spring over here too, finally, after snow and cold the last few days!
Did you folks loose power earlier today, I heard the CleElum Roslyn area had a big power failure?

Hi folks! Have you ever considered growing some grass for the chimps in the wintery months? It never occurred to me until I saw this video, but I grow little pots of wheat grass for my indoor cats to “mow”. Just a thought since grass is so easy to grow (maybe even in their new greenhouse), even for a person with a black thumb like me 😉 hee

I think their excitement, even over the little things, is a great reminder not to take anything for granted. These poor guys sure are the ones who know!

Love that last bit, where each blade is being savored. Priceless.

Fresh grass must taste pretty good. I love the squeaks and excitement. I also love how Negra told J.B. one handful wasn’t enough…LOL.

I’ve never seen Annie get excited before, it’s a nice to see. Annie and Missy’s hug was great and that Annie wanted to share her excitement with her best friend. Now maybe my eyes were playing a joke on me but it looked like Missy was patting Annie on the back during the hug.

Candy. It was Jody and Annie hugging, and I do believe Jody did give Annie a little pat 🙂

I like how Negra took a handful, put it in her mouth and put her hand out for more!!

I think this is the sweetest video yet. How wonderful to know the spring has finally arrived in Cle Elum. I love thinking of how happy Annie is to have grass back.

My gosh this was a wonderful video!!! J.B. the official deliverer of spring! And Jody & Annie’s hug was so adorable, I couldn’t help but squeak myself when I watched it! Also, I believe I have heard a theme mentioned on the blog many-a-time…Whatever Negra wants, Negra gets! 🙂

What a sweet video !! I love hearing all the happy squeaks and the grunts. Happy, happy chimps!!!

Happy, happy chimps…..indeed! Hearing the squeaks and grunts with my own ears yesterday was a thrill…..especially when they were squeaking about the meal Joanne and I had prepared for them! I hope more of us “bloggers” get a chance to volunteer at the sanctuary.

This has to be one of my favorite videos in quite some time. I love the excited grunts and squeaks and happy dances, and Negra, putting her hand out for more….and more… The end…just when we thought it was over, there’s a happy chimp so focused on that lovely fresh grass. Great job!
