Best Friends

April 25, 2010 by Sarah

Missy and Annie are best friends. They can’t get enough play time! I feel so fortunate to be able to watch them play, and even more fortunate to have a small role in providing them with a place where they are free to play as much as they want. Here’s a video from yesterday of some of their fun. Annie is still wearing that neckwarmer today!

When these two play together, it always brings a smile to my face. Actually, Annie seemed more energetic, than Missy, today. I was wondering, when they were at Buckshire, were they all in the same caging or were they separated? I’m unsure of what to ask, could they all be together in their caging? Were Annie and Missy able to play with one another at Buckshire, did they share the same cage?

Hi Candy! Yes, they did play together at Buckshire too. The seven of them were in the same space for their last few years there – all together in a space the size of a bathroom. So not too much room to run and wrestle. Right before they came here, Missy had a hysterectomy. She was separated out from the group for a few weeks for recovery and then they were individual transport cages for the trip to Washington. So their reunion (here) was very joyful! I think we have the video of that – I will have to see if I can find it.

It’s so wonderful to see them playing as they should. I would also love to see that video, Sarah!
