Snow Grunts

January 1, 2010 by J.B.

The chimps never seem to tire of eating snow. Sitting here in the kitchen, I hear food grunts and squeaks every 5 minutes or so as someone returns from the outdoor area with a giant snowball.

Gosh, a video of Mr. B ending the year and a photo of Mr. B to begin the new year. I’m happy!

I love the snow but not the cold. We don’t get snow often in my hometown but when it does snow, it’s gorgeous! I have even made snow cream. Do you think the chimps would like a treat of snow cream? Adapted to their diet of course. I blended strawberries in mine and it was delicious!

Hi Theresa – Yes, we have made snow cream before (with fruit and soy milk). The chimps love it!

Oh JB I love the picture and then to know the chimps love snow cream! What a great way to start the New Year, especially with me being in warm San Antonio! Believe it or not, I miss the cold weather and snow!!! Thanks for the pix!

Have any of you built the chimps a snow man yet? 🙂

If the chimpanzees learn how to make a snowball, will a snowball fight be next ?!?

Maybe the caregivers need to be a part of the snow ball fight to show the chimps how it is done? Minus one for filming purposes. 🙂
