Come to this talk with Debra Durham tonight! I’ll be there and will talk about the sanctuary to attendees.
Primatologist Debra Durham, Ph.D., will discuss her work with chimpanzee sanctuaries in Washington and around the world. She’ll also explain why we need to urge Sen. Maria Cantwell to support the Great Ape Protection Act (GAPA), a bill that would prohibit invasive research on chimpanzees and release about 500 chimpanzees to sanctuaries.
When: Wednesday, Jan. 20, 7:30 – 9 p.m.
Where: Seattle Library
1000 4th Ave., Level 4, Room 2
Seattle, WA 98104
Tel: 206-386-4636
For more information about the event and how to get involved in advocating for GAPA, please see the Physicians Committee for Responsible medicine website: http://pcrm.org/resch/gapa/involved.html.

Sounds like it will be a great lecture. If only I lived closer!

Thx for mentioning the GAPA Diana. There are so many people that love these amazing creatures and don’t know that it even exists. (Myself included. Just found out about it last year).
If you’re reading these comments, and you haven’t done it yet, please make sure you sign the letters available on these web sites to urge your Senator’s to pass this new legislation. It’s so very important to the remaining chimps that are still being held in bio-med labs. We need to close them down!!
Chimp hugs to all!!

Dr. Durham’s lecture was great! I learned things I didn’t know about research on chimpanzees, and about PCRM & GAPA. I only wish I could have stayed for the whole presentation. Diana, I really enjoyed your speech! I could listen to you talk about the Cle Elum 7 all day! 🙂 I hope to be able to attend more events like this soon.
