Burrito on the lookout

January 13, 2009 by Sarah

Our building is designed so that the chimps can see what’s going on. They can see into the kitchen, so they can watch us making their meals and see who’s coming and going. They can see the UPS truck and other folks coming up the driveway too. I snapped this picture of Mr. B when a volunteer was arriving today. He leaned out over the catwalk so he could catch a glimpse of who was here!

The sanctuary is wonderfully designed so that the chimpanzees can be part of anything they want to! Our Burrito is especially interested in what is going on in the kitchen, I have noticed! What a great photo.

What a great picture of Burrito checking out the goings on. After all CSNW is his home and he wants to make sure he knows everything going on. I adore the expression on his face especially those bright, intelligent eyes!

Oh I love it! Look at the expression in his eyes ~ he really is very interested in knowing just who is coming and what’s going on, isn’t he?? If I were the arriving volunteer, I think I’d feel a little bit of pressure to make sure that whatever Burrito was going to be served tastes especially good to him! I’d want him to be happy every time I came and not disgusted….like “oh, pooh, the one that doesn’t give me my spaghetti!” 😉

Now I will have this great closeup in my mind when I see Mr. B on the catwalk checking up on me!!! What a face and what eyes!!He is watching out for his territory and his mates!

I love this photo because it shows they have an interest in what’s going on at the sanctuary. I was thinking to myself how relaxed and comfortable the “seven” are now. Thanks for letting us observe their new lives.

That’s so great that the building is designed so they can observe all the activities in and around their home, and it’s clear from this photo that Burrito doesn’t miss a thing!!! 🙂 Great picture!! Thank you, Sarah!
