Another Playful Day

January 22, 2009 by J.B.

The chimps have been playing all day today. While we were cleaning the playroom, Foxie and Jamie played “ghost under the sheet” and tickled each other:

Later, when the chimps went outside, there was a lot of jumping:

…and wrestling:

…and some foot-biting:

Finally, Foxie hung upside down from the roof with a troll head in her mouth:

Firstly, this sequence is just amazing!! Great job JB!! You’ve caught them so realistically I can hear the laughter and the shuffling in the straw!! The flying lady is fantastic, especially with her catcher! And the smiles and playfaces!! One really gets a sensation of chimp life and play.

Secondly, on a personal note, could you order up a playful day the next time I’m volunteering??? I seem to be working on laid back day were lying in the sun is the favored activity!!

Just a thought!! Seriously, great sequence and so wonderful to see happy, playful people enjoying life!!

It is so heartening to see our pals frolicking and having fun. I liked the series. It really captures the movement. It always brightens my day to see a new post. Thanks for sharing their lives with us.

Excellent pictures JB! I can hear the chimp laughter as they play. I always hope for pictures or a video when I come to the blog. I never tire of looking at the chimps having fun and being chimps. They have come such a long way in just 7 months. It’s incredible to see them coming out of their shells. There is no doubt they are all happy chimps thanks to you all! You all rock!!

Too, too funny! Looks like quite the romp!

It’s such a heartwarming sign of both their physical and mental health that they are engaging in so much play.

What a bug rumpus day! Were all the chimps in on this or were some of the more “dignified” chimps content to watch their friends rip around?
