God bless you ladies for doing this! Have fun everyone, sorry we won’t be able to make it up from LA but we will be there in spirit! Take pictures for the blog!
hiya Jeani – on Monday I mailed out a package for you regarding the postcards for the party .. I hope you receive them soon .. it is a package that won’t fit into your regular mailbox, so if you are not home to receive this package, I hope your place is safe enough for the mail carrier to leave at your door till you get home!
Have fun everybody – I’ll be thinking of you and the chimps!
I will take pictures on Sat and will be out in Cle Elum on Tues so hopefully we can download them onto the blog then!! It should be a fun afternoon! For all the people with us in spirit we will include that spirit in all that we make. Thanks so much and have great holidays!!!!
Thank you for posting this Diana. We are going to have so much fun and will keep all the CCCs that can’t make it in our hearts. Yes, pictures will be taken.
Dee, I got your package yesterday when I got home. I’m glad I have a safe place because yours was one of 3 packages I got! I will bring your package with me and also pass some of the information out at school.
I was at Micheal’s today (a craft store) picking up some straw wreaths for the enrichment party. The clerk at the check out counter took the website and was very interested in hearing about the chimps. She said she would come by the enrichment party. I sure hope she does! Sometimes I feel like a broken record but nobody seems to mind when I talk about the chimp people so I will keep talking! I just love them and want everyone else to feel the same way.
See you at the enrichment party!
Oh I wish so much I could have made it up there for the party. I’m in santa Rosa, California, about an hour north of San Francisco. I would like to maybe send something small for all the chimps to open on Christmas morning. Any ideas anyone? I don’t have alot of money but would love to do something since everyone is happy to see a present thats just for them.
Hi Devin ~ the caregivers are probably best at offering some good thoughts about gifts….there are lots of things they can have but also some things they can’t and it’s not easy to know unless you ask 🙂 A few things we know they can have….walnuts in the shell, pomegranates, coconuts, peanuts in the shell (unsalted), dried fruit….there is usually a “wish list” posted here on the web site, too, that lists items in all price-ranges. If you “wrap” anything, be sure to wrap it so that the staff can open it first and re-close it, it’s important for them to make sure whatever is in a package is something the chimps can have. Sometimes we put items in a bag with a loose ribbon or tie. Very sweet of you to think of the chimps at Christmas – others may send you some ideas, too 🙂
Hi Devin,
Crayons and a drawing pad (11×17) is a good gift also.
