Gifts from friends

November 17, 2008 by Sarah

Pretty much everything you see on the blog is donated: enrichment, food, blankets. We are very lucky to say that we don’t pay for any of it! It’s quite touching to think of how many friends the Cle Elum Seven have. Here are the chimps making good use of some recent presents: Annie camped out on a blanket from Patty and Missy in a sock from Candace.

The one sock Missy is sporting is tres chic. She could be bringing the style back large and in charge.

Sarah thanks for the cute pictures. I love the kiss Annie is giving herself on the foot and yes Missy you are definitely gorgeous!!!
Quick question… Did Foxie pay any attention to the pink princess pillow? I’m still hoping she would use it to sleep on if she isn’t making nests.

If they only knew how many friends they have, and that those friends love them very, very much!! 🙂 It makes me happy to see them enjoying all of their presents!! Missy is too cute with that sock on her foot!! It seems like I’ve seen photos of her on the blog before wearing one sock….does she ever wear two?

Audrey, I wondered the same thing. Does Missy get two socks in the morning enrichment or is there always just one sock? She may be choosing to wear only one. Either way she’s very cute!

Thanks for showing Missy wearing one of the socks I got for the seven. I had a friend at work say to me that “at least you don’t have to buy them anything,” and I just looked at her and said “oh, yes I do, it’s fun.” Whenever I’m out shopping or looking through store ads I’m always thinking if it could be used at Cle Elum. Sometimes I’ll mention that I’m shopping for chimpanzees, I’ll get the look then I can go right into who they are, why they’re there, where they come from, etc. In fact, when I mailed the boxes the postal employee asked about them, it’s a great opportunity to spread the word.

When I made up the enrichment when I was there last I put in several socks. I guess Missy is not ambisockterous!! Candace, I know what you mean. When I go out shopping I never miss an opportunity to tell about the chimps. I’ve even started having paper with the website to hand out. Just this past Sunday I had an employee at Target ask if they take donations to which I responded a definite yes! It is fun educating people and being able to show pictures.

It’s so heartwarming to see them enjoying themselves without having to worry if someone is going to poke them with a needle or worse. These chimps bring me such joy! Annie and Missy look so relaxed just doing what they want. Thanks again for sharing these moments with us!
