As promised, here’s some video of George’s 22nd birthday party.
In other news, Terry rejoined his group this afternoon following a couple days of isolation and rest to recover from having some teeth extracted. More on that tomorrow!

Whast a magnificant feast for Georges B’day. You guys do such an amazing job. Thank you, it makes my heart glow to see them so excited. George continues to do well living life as he should, living as a chimp! Was that Cy that kinda got in the middle of him and Rayne? Wonder if Cy thought George was being a little too agressive with Rayne? With George being just 22 years old I guess theres a chance he could end up being the dominant if he continues to develope? I dont remember how old Cy is but I think George is quite a bit younger. I know the Alpha male doesnt just change overnight and of course I dont see them enough to tell if there are changing dynamics but almost all young chimps want to be the boss so George might be the same? Gordo and his “scooting” on a blanket is so cute. I know its odd behavior but considering what theyve been through I think its pretty cool. Its like he’s riding the blanket bus.
I think it was Gordo who split them up, and a minute later, you see Cy standing behind them, shaking his head. The blanket car is always Lucky.
What a great video! It looks like the Easter Bunny has become a thorough-going vegan and, instead of eggs, left some grapes and apples for George the Birthday Boy and his besties.
When he was sitting on a platform on the Brayside, the camera panned back to show him with the river valley and the mountain ridge in the background. Considering where George was a year ago, his birthday yesterday is even more worth celebrating. May he have many more with Gordo, Raynie, Cy and all his friends…with Lucky on hand to operate her blanket scooter to keep the birthday party in order, of course.
Oh, the party planners did such an excellent job that George did not have to move around the room from plate to plate getting what he wanted. He had so many favorites that he just took one plate and one bucket, flopped down and demolished every bit! Grapes and so many kinds of fruit! You guys knocked it out of the park! I’m glad sweet Lucky finally abandoned all hope of finding a drive-thru and trust she got a plate somewhere. Grapes are definitely George’s favorite thing!
What a fantastic party for George and all his chimp guests. The food and drink were overflowing. Thank you to the kitchen staff and servers. That’s quite a job to feed that many hungry excited partygoers. I’m happy that Terry could participate, perhaps with some soft foods. Dental work is never pleasant. And what a lovely spring day for a forage. Somewhere in Georgia’s mind he must think he’s been uplifted to a new planet where everything is overflowing. you deserve nothing but the best George for your big double 2 birthday. Thank you to everyone at CSNW.
Its so wonderful what you do for the chimps on their birthdays, holidays and other special days. Thank you for all your hard work in putting these events together. I love to see the chimps excited about the event thats about to happen. I love to see them enjoying their food and drink. They deserve the best and all the happiness in the world!!!!
So much fun to be had! Truly a fun filled, tummies full day!! If you didn’t know, you would think George has been with Cy’s group since the start. Thank you. Not just for this festive celebration but for every day that led up to it!
you know how sometimes you just have an instant connection with someone? what excites me the most lately is Gordo, and his apparent connection with George. As happy as we have all been for George, rightfully so of course, I’m equally excited for Gordo. for the few years he has been with us, he seems to most often be off on his own. Over in the corner in a box. Or up on a ledge on his own. sitting in a windowsill. I’m sure the caregivers see much more, but from what we see here on the blog he just always seems to be a loner. But no longer! He’s so much more animated! With George. And it makes my heart so happy to see. We all need someone, ya know?
I’ve been celebrating the same, Paulette!

The party was wonderful. Watching George celebrate his birthday was magical. I am so happy for George
and it seems as though he is happy too.
Thank you CSNW for your loving and thoughtful ways. The chimpanzees truly benefit from your caring.
