A Sanctuary Supper

July 16, 2025 by Kelsi

Let’s have dinner with Negra!

Negra enjoys the simple things in life: the feeling of warm sunshine, a good blanket nest, and a simple nightbag mix. Negra prefers to enjoy her nightbag somewhere quiet, such as her nest or a corner of the green house, where she can peacefully unwrap her bag slowly, savoring each bite with calm contentment.

Spending time with Negra is a gentle reminder to slow down and appreciate the small, quiet joys in life. I hope you enjoy this video!

Bonus photo series of George try to groom me while I try to get a picture of him:

That’s nice, the oldest and the youngest residents in the same blog.

I had to pop right up and go get my chips and guacamole!

I would be honored to have dinner with Neggie! I love that they scrape the avocado skins with their teeth as we do artichoke leaves, getting every bit! And she saved her favorites for last.

Maybe it’s the camera angle, but lil Georgie looks like maybe he should go on Burrito and Foxie’s extra portion diet for a bit. Sweet face!

Negra knows how to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. A tasty healthy meal with a cool breeze blowing through her hair. What more could you need?! Thank you for letting us observe how content Negra is. Deservingly so.

George looks so happy to be in your company. It seems he’s really settling in to his new home. Again, deservingly so.

These beautiful and intelligent chimpanzees teach us so much about life and how we use our time.Just watching sweet Negra enjoying her dinner -as if she is totally in her present moment -blows me away. I think that lady would be a delighful friend to George who who seems to become more handsome each time I see him. I can hardly wait for him meeting up with his chimpanzee pals.

If I recall correctly it was Neggie who was very uncomfortable with the wind when they first arrived at CSNW. It is so heartwarming to see her completely relaxed, enjoying her meal, with the wind blowing her hair, without a trace of concern. <3 love, home, sanctuary, food!

I remembered that, too, Judy. Looks like they still have the panelrs up so George can go outside in peace.

Thanks for confirming LInda. I remember that most of them were baffled by the outdoors, sky, wind – but it seemed like wind created true fear for Neggie. Following them all these years has enriched my life and my heart. CSNW is life-changing for so many – even the followers/supporters!
