Who’s That Boy? …It’s George!

July 17, 2025 by Jenna

Today, George got to explore The Bray again! For those unfamiliar, The Bray is one of our two 2-acre outdoor habitats, which is open-top and surrounded by electric fencing.

Fortunately, both times so far, George has explored The Bray with no issues! He acts like he’s been doing it for months now, with little arousal. As you can see in some pictures, George has a droopy lip, which tells us he is relaxed and content out there.

I can’t believe George has been at CSNW for two months already! Having George meet other chimps is the next thing on our to-do list. Chimp introductions are a slow, intricate process that requires lots of planning and care.

What a handsome young man George is! I’m going to remind you all again that you still haven’t added him to the “Our Family” on the website!

I know, but maybe bc they always put their likes/dislikes and BFFs, and rheyre still getting to know him. They also need more videos for the “Fall in Love with George” video (which we already have.?)

looks like George got his display, jump, and run in all in one day.

Has George seen or noticed any of the other Chimpanzees yet? it is nice that he too has access to the outdoors, etc. just like all the others.. im sure he can smell them.

    Thank you Jenna.

    cheers

Go George!!! Look at this habdsome and confident guy! You’d never know that, until recently, he was living alone in a tiny cage. He looks like he’s been doing this his whole life!

Aw, the photo where his hands are folded looks like a yearbook picture. It qualifies him to enter the “photogenic chimp” hall of fame along with Mave , the beautiful Annie, and our dear Jojo.
Speaking of Jo, saggy bottom lip is a great thing to see, indeed!

Was he running back down the hill!?
Go, George, go! Run, jump, TAKE UP SPACE! There’s plenty of it here, and it’s all yours!

Thanks for all these great photos of George hooting, displaying, relaxing, climbing, and strolling about on a beautiful day. I can only imagine what he must be thinking and feeling. Everything in his life now is expanding in significant ways! And George seems to take it all in with ease! If the gang has a view of George, I bet they’re realizing just how cool this new guy is.

Yay for George!!! He is looking so much healthier and happier. Looks like he’s gained weight and his fur looks thicker and shinier. He also just looks content. Thank you for rescuing him,and for the updates. Wishing him luck making friends among the other chimps.

I can’t wait until he meets the other chimps! He looks like he’s enjoying himself, but it will be nice if he has a friend.
