Terry’s Not So Teeny Tiny Nest

November 9, 2024 by Jenna

Terry is a simple guy in many ways. He is not a picky eater, he is a great friend, and is not very dramatic. He’s just sensible. He also does not seem to need much for his evening nest. Most of us caregivers don’t see him make elaborate nests very often. I personally don’t see him nest much at all, but maybe that is because he waits until the Chimp House is closed up for the day.

Yesterday, as I was closing up the Chimp House for the day, I caught Terry building the most epic, largest, paper-filled nest in the Mezzanine. Have we been wrong all along? Or did the excess of paper (donated to us by our friends at Jerrol’s in Ellensburg) inspire Terry? Either way, I was so excited to catch this moment on camera. It was so sweet to watch Terry build his not so Teeny Tiny [Terry] nest.

Don’t forget! Our online auction is still going on as we speak.

Terry’s ornament is one of the auction items currently posted! Get your bids in now and keep checking back as new items are added often! Thank you for your support! ☺️

Terry’s nest was quite something for sure. I imagine that paper is not very comfortable to sleep on and quite noisy also. I saw Honey B for a moment, it didn’t appear that she was making her nest yet. Speaking of my dear girl, has she been behaving herself lately? I would love to see a Honey B magnet offered during the auction or any other time to purchase. One last comment, little Dora looked adorable in the video…those beautiful eyes!

Wowza! That was some nest. All that crunchy paper must have inspired Terry (A big thank you to Jerrol’s!!) I loved the way he very thoughtfully gathered and placed his paper, including the box too. And he delicately selected a blanket to add some padding behind him. The nest is a masterpiece! Terry is a master craftsman when it comes to nest building. You’ll need offer up paper more often and see what unfolds (pun intended).

And then there’s Dora, our intermission performance!

A perfect not-so-teeny tiny nest for a not-so-teeny tiny guy! Terry’s nest sure looks nice! All of that paper must have given him some inspiration.
I love HB and Dora hanging out near the camera. Wonder what those two are plotting. Don’t wadge the bonobo book, Dora!! I guess we finally found someone who isn’t as crazy about bonobos as everyone else.
