Nothing is more important than your girl friends. As you will see in the video, Honey B and Dora agree! Today, Honey B and Dora held back in the front rooms so that they could have some one-on-one gal time. Sometimes you just need a break from the men, ya know! Watching these two play really warms my heart. I often get asked by people, what sanctuary means to me. For me, it’s the little moments, like watching Honey B build friendships within her group, or to watch Dora flourish and become a social butterfly, or to watch someone like Neggie turn 51 (tomorrow!) and thrive in sanctuary: making choices that was not allotted to her in her previous life.
Tomorrow is the Trifecta Jubilee, celebrating our sweet 16! I cannot believe it has been 16 years since the Cle Elum 7 arrived to the sanctuary or that Negra will already be turning 51 years young. But, lets not forget our sweet friend Terry who is turning 34 tomorrow! It will be quite the celebration! If you would like to help us celebrate, check out our Sweet Sixteen online auction.
I think it will come to no surprise that I personally love this painting, Jamie’s Boot by Cheryl Feng. I love how Cheryl captured Jamie! Place your bids today!

How beautiful Cheryl Feng’s painting of JAMIE’S BOOT is and many thanks for sharing Honey B. and Dora’s playing today too, Kelsi! Tomorrow should be a delightful day for the chimpanzees!

I loved watching the play time between Honey B and Dora. I had just rewatched the Hose Heist video last night and had forgotten that little Dora was a co-conspirator in that caper.
Cheryl Feng’s picture of Jamie is beautiful. My eyes welled up with tears looking into Jamie’s eyes, I could feel how much that boot meant to her, held tightly to her heart.
I’m looking forward to Negra’s 51st birthday tomorrow. Thanks again to all of you and the hard work you perform for the Chimpanzees we all love so much.

Just how many blankets have those girls stashed away??? They must be planning a BIG sleepover, or maybe somewhere to hide all those goodies tomorrow?

Well,as that song says “girls just gotta have fun” and from those video shenanigans that’s exactly what Dora and Honey B were having! Laugh out loud to see such innocent fun. In general would you say that the girls play together less aggressively than the boys? Whatever, it sure was a fun day between those gals.

I’m thinking back to Jamie’s motorcycle move on Foxie, and some of the epic play sessions with those two, and I’m wondering if the girls sometimes are more rough than the boys bc it won’t be mistaken for aggression.

Love a good play session! Honey B and Dora are really having fun! Perhaps Honey B needs a “no boys allowed” sign for when she decides not to shift with her girl gang?

Hi Kelsi! Thanks for sharing what sanctuary means to you. And a big thanks for this silly-sweet video illustrating your point. What fun! I just love listening to breathy-pant laughter!! Dora’s grab the leg move (after they moved to the next room) was pretty funny.
So excited for today’s big celebration. Congratulations on 16 years of providing everyone with their version of Home. Hoots and moos to all of you! My heart honestly bursts with joy and love over Negra’s 51st birthday. She is amazing. All hail the Queen! And teeny tiny Terry, I am so happy he’s a part of your sanctuary family. Cheers to you, Terry, on your 34th year.
I also want to add that I see some of the caregivers bidding on the works of art. Please know that I wish I could outbid all of your determined opponents and purchase your favorite pieces for you. Good luck to each of you! I remember when Jamie’s original painting was in a past auction and I soooo desperately wanted to possess it. That image is Jamie, it’s in the eyes. I remember the original photo as well. May you win the pieces you love!
To each artist I’d like say that I am impressed how each of you captured the soul of your subject in your own personal way. I am dazed over all the pieces I want to bid on!! One of each, please. 😉
Happy Sweet 16!!!!
