Postponing Winter

October 27, 2023 by Jenna

Despite the sudden cooler temperatures (it was a crisp 33 degrees arriving to the sanctuary this morning), the sun was out and shining today. The sun felt so good and warm, that I thought it’d be a perfect day for a forage on Young’s Hill. Jamie, Missy, Burrito, Annie, and Foxie agreed with me and were happy to do a lunch forage out on the Hill. Negra requested her meal to be inside for a lunch party of one, presumably so she can be where it is warmer.

One of the highlights of the morning, as you will see pictured below, is Jamie drinking from her tiny teacup. We made up a Gatorade pool, which is one of Jamie’s favorite things, in their Playroom. The entire group usually sits down and drinks up. Jamie loves using a cup to drink from, but today it was especially funny to see her use the tiniest cup possible to drink from.

On the other side of the building, Cy’s group is also soaking up the sun in their Greenhouses, their chute, and the Bray.

Sometimes I just have to share certain photos with everyone I know. Jamie and her teeny cup is one. LOL

Isn’t Rayne just a beauty? Her coloring is beautiful. And her composure exudes confidence. and her eyes just emit kindness to me.

Come rain, shine or snow the chimps sure know how to make the most of their day.Does my heart good to see them having a ball outside or indoors. It was lovely to my sweet Annie enjoying her lunch forage. Thanks for sharing these photos.

Jamie may be the boss, but she is also a woman of discerning tastes. A tiny teacup is the perfect accoutrement for a refined lady of a certain age.

If only we could postpone winter. But, winter is coming! Pleased to see the sunshine makes a cold day forage well worth it. And for Negra, a warm sun puddle in the greenhouse is the perfect spot to be served a yummy meal.

Love todays photos. Handsome Cy, photogenic Rayne, stick carrying Burrito, dear sweet Annie and Missy, too. But best of all is Jamie sipping from her teeny tiny tea cup. So happy you captured that moment.

    Illustration is wonderful! 🙂

I must concur with the others that the pictures of Rayne are just beautiful and Jamie with the tiny teacup…adorable.

I agree with Vicky:. The CEO of the Human Sanctuary Northwest displays refined tea etiquette.

I enjoyed the photographs. Best of all, after several days at large, it was good to read news of Her Majesty. I trust that her friend Eeyore will keep her warm during the frost.

Thank you for the classy pictures! All of them are just great, I especially loved the box illustration (I saved it on my computer), and the photos of Rayne….they’re literally picturesque, no kidding, they remind me of Renaissance paintings!
