Dreaming of Summer

January 24, 2023 by Chad de Bree

As I was cleaning today, I randomly thought to myself how sad I was that Annie had skipped her summer fashion for 2022. Then lo and behold, as if her ears were burning, Annie walked in wearing a hot pink headband around her waist!

It’s hard to tell if the fashion season has come early this year, or if Annie is making up for missing the 2022 season. Either way, Annie looks fabulous!

Dora and Mave grooming this morning

Bonus Side Story:

Yesterday, as I was cleaning the Oakwood Greenhouse, I saw Dora grab a piece of paper and sit on the Lupine Playroom stairs. She sat there for a few minutes staring at it and kind of caressing it. When she got up and left, I was able to see what she found so intriguing.

It’s the Mave spread of the 2023 Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest Calendar! (Which is coincidentally on sale right now!) I thought it was a little funny because she was acting like she hadn’t seen Mave in weeks. In reality, Mave was just across the room eating what was remaining of her breakfast.

Sometimes, I just can’t with the Mora relationship!

Bonus Bonus Photos:

I passed through the two greenhouses and saw Mave like this. How could I not share them?

I had been missing that this year, too, Chad, both Beezus and Annie! Maybe it’s vacation wear….’tis the season for warm winter getaways!
That story of Dora and the calendar is too precious!

Yup! I too was seriously missing Annie and her warm weather headband-waistband glamour. These photos totally made my day. You nailed it, Annie looks fab-u-lous!

As if Annie wasn’t enough to make my day, Dora lovingly admiring Mave’s calendar page is just too too much. (And if you haven’t purchased a copy of the 2023 CSNW wall calendar, drop everything you are doing and get one. It is full of the best photography of our favorite residents and it is guaranteed to make you smile all year long.) Dora and Mave forming such a loving friendship seems to be one the brighest outcomes from your hard work to join the two groups together. So touching.

And look at Mave! She looks marvelous (say it like Billy Crystal). Her hair is beautiful and she looks so healthy. (Thanks Dora!)

    Mainly to Diana:

i signed up for the Positive Reinforcement webinar 1/22/23 but was unable to attend.

Would you please ensure that I receive a link to the recording? I really hated to miss it.

    Thanks so much!

Chad you need to throw a picture of Dora over to Mave! I Would love to see what happens! Where do you order those headbands…..If I wear one….. my head hurts….. how can they get it around their waist? I don’t have a big head I’m only 5 ft 1 in… they must be made for oversized heads :grin:talking about heads …..just like Anthony said you have a great head of hair:grin::grin:….How much do ya want for it:grin::grin::grin:

      🙂
I think they’re terry cloth, and stretchy. They were on the wish list, in the past

Looking back at all my saved photos recently, I found an adorable one of Missy wearing socks on BOTH feet! It looks like the girls take fashion statements very seriously! Adorable!

Oh, Annie thanks for reminding some of us of days when our waistlines were small enough to wear a headband. You go, girl! Dora, what a subtle way to remind everyone they just might need another 2023 calendar. You are a marketing genius.

Be still my heart with Mave and Dora!!! I for one am in total agreement with Dora that Mave is just the most awesome girl around. I too just want to give her a big hug!!!

It’s fantastic to see Annie, and the others, express their unique personalities, whether it’s Annie with her headbands or Burrito with a blanket wrapped over his head!

Mave, what a beautiful lady! And we all know how incredibly sweet and caring she is. And to see that Dora was admiring her calendar spread, well, no surprise there! Everyone should have a bestie friendship like Mora!!! Just makes me happy to know how much they love each other. Definitely made all the hard work and persistence of integration completely worthwhile!
