Watch KOMO TV news tonight

October 30, 2008 by Diana

Michelle Esteban of Seattle’s Komo 4 TV News, an ABC affiliate, has visited the sanctuary twice. She reported on the chimpanzees’ arrival on June 13th and she was there August 26th when the chimpanzees went into the outdoor area for the first time.

Through their Problem Solvers fund, KOMO TV has raised a bit of money for us.  Michelle called yesterday to see if she could send out a crew this morning to do a follow-up story. It should air on the evening news (channel 4 in Seattle). If you’re local, I hope you can watch and tell  your friends to watch too!

Debbie – yes, indeed. I’ll post the link to the video, which will be on the KOMO news website, as soon as it appears. Apparently there is a storyline on Grey’s Anatomy tonight that relates – a chimpanzees released from research who ends up at the hospital. We may be on twice – the evening broadcast and the 11pm broadcast.

I just saw a commercial on KOMO 4 saying the chimps will be on the 11:00 news tonight!!

I really, really hope that Grey’s Anatomy does not use a chimpanzee “actor” on their show tonight. What did the commercial say?

They just said something on the commercial about the chimps at the sanctuary & that they would be on the news at 11:00…nothing about Grey’s Anatomy. But, at the beginning of Grey’s Anatomy they said “No animals were harmed in the filming of this episode” so I have a feeling there will be chimp “actors” on the show. 🙁 (although they didn’t say that).

There was breaking news on the 6pm news that took up a lot of time……a very bad accident on south I-5. I imagine that is why we got cut on the 6pm. I will be watching for it at 11pm.

Thank goodness..no chimps on Grey’s Anatomy. It was hard to watch, though. I don’t usually watch this show, but wanted to see what they would have on. They had a storyline where they used fake pigs & they were using them for the “doctors” to practice, but the pigs were very realistic. It was upsetting! The main characters on the show were against using the pigs & against research on animals. I went to the message boards for Greys Anatomy at abc.go.com/primetime/greysanatomy and there are a lot of furious people commenting on the show, and a lot of discussion on using animals for research.
