Grooming

October 29, 2008 by J.B.

Chimpanzees have massive, powerful hands, but they tend to be so gentle and delicate when they groom someone else’s face – especially around the eyes.

these are just so tender so precious – beyond beautiful
brings tears to my eyes as I look into the lovely Missy’s eyes and face .. knowing that there are others out there stuck in labs who don’t get a chance to do any of this, to bond with each other

Look at the expression on those beautiful faces – it’s just so wonderful to see! I have to say that the pictures you post are amazing. How do you do it??? I can imagine it’s not an easy thing to do with the very “busy” Seven!!!

JB ~ wow, wow, wow, wow……so very tender and touching. I’m going to have to learn new vocabulary to try to describe how these photo’s make me feel. I wish I were a poet or a song writer……just so deeply moving. Thank you, so much, for sharing the lives of these chimpanzees with us ~ truly this experience is and has been one of the very most meaningful of my life.

You did it again JB, the friendship and love is so tender between Annie and Missy and you got it!! The way they hold each others gaze resonates so deeply, and the gentle touching…..so beautiful. Thank you for having the patience to capture this gentle love and share it with us.

These photos are so touching they bring tears to my eyes. You have captured that gentleness perfectly. What I notice even more is the peace in their eyes. These chimps are content and at peace at last. That other life will never be forgotten but they know being hurt is a thing of the past and the humans in their life now are on their side. That shows in the daily pictures taken and the play that goes on between them. What a honor to see that firsthand. I envy that.
